Everybody that is currently building a car...

The Parisienne is still in the paint shop (5th week now). We had to dismantle everything, including the windshield to make sure we'd get done with the rust everywhere.

Had to buy new ''fillers'' for the corners and bumper gaps.
Should be primered in a day or two and painted next week...can't wait!

Found a guy to redo the entire motor for 1300$ (for the stock motor) and will most probably put an Edelbrock power pack for 305 on the thing; should get pretty good hp and torque!

Will also change the rear end for one of a 1990 Caprice I.P., with posi diff and disc brakes and stab bars.

After all that, there will only be the interior to finish.

Yesterday I was able to score a pair of Hoosier 32x14 (Actually 16" wide) Drag Slicks for $200 in the Recycler. These will be great for the weekend drags, but I will be using some Mickey Thompson 29x15.5 (Tread is 12.7") for the street.

My new scoop arrived today, and it looks BADASS on the zz4.

Been on this one about a year. Car is a 52 Chevy Styline Deluxe Sedan. So far have put a 76 Camaro subframe on it. Had to narrow the control arms an inch per side to get those tires inside the fenders. Have built and made mount for the Cadillac 425 engine that is backed by a turbo 400. The engine has mildly ported heads and an Erson cam (low end torque grind). Also have the 76 Camaro rear and springs as well as steering column and booster/master cylinder from the 76 Camaro. I have purchased a set of polished aluminum Halibrand style wheels for it. Afew more weeks of welding up holes and replacing floors and I should be breaking it down so I can paint everything. Will leave most trim shaved including door handles, will french the headlights, remove splash aprons front and rear so I can fit the flip the bumpers, make them one piece and fit them close to body. Will also use a one piece windshield and leave out vent windows on the doors. Since this is a one man show, maybe in a couple years I'll be riding. See my gallery for more photos.

I still been working on my interior, I finished the rear seat front support with two 6x9 speaks. I am going to carpet it tomorrow and hook up my CD and tach. Should be a fun day if it wasn't so freaking HOT! 101 today with %90 humidity so thats about 107. Anyway so does everybody but it makes it hot to work inside the car thats for sure.

Sounds like what I'm going to do lt1s10, I like the idea of toe buttons and soleniods.:D

The interior is coming along very nice Brickman, going to look great when it's done.

Insomnia isn't all bad...... Woke up at 4AM this morning and put the door back on the Ranchero. Still needs a bit of adjusting but it's close enough that I can start working on the front clip. The tubing should be in this week to start building the cage. I ordered the motor plates on Thursday so they should be here soon, too.

here is my 61 i have ,not making very much progress .
have a new progressive auto frame.

That is going to be one sweet 61 Impala. Im going to go and have back sugery in about 2 hrs!!!! Im having a disk replacement. Hopefull this will fix my problems and I can get back to work on my 59 Impala. I guess I still have lots of time though Im 31 :D. Anyway I really like that 61 very cool!! I also really like that ranchero Dave. Is that a Mustang door and 1/4 panel!!!! That is a very cool custom!!!

Well, the faster I go the behinder I get. LOL. Had gotten the top and the hood stripped and straightened and back into primer doing a panel at a time. Got the Sanderson Headers and new exhaust made up and on. Took the truck last Sunday for a cruise. Danged if I didn't bend both valves on number 3 cylinder. (nice highway, no one around, let's hit it). So now between the heat wave and some rain, I am tearing the 390 apart to get the heads redone. I've decided since everything is apart I am going to redo the fuel lines to my carbs while I am at it. Never ending saga.

Hate it when that happens.

Pulled the engine apart in my daughters car recently. Got it back together, runnin' great and the trans. went out ............ she then bought a new car. Oh well, it was good practice .........:CRY: :CRY: :CRY: that's what I keep tellin' myself. practice....practice....practice.....:whacked:

I understand about murphy's law Ol'F100, I have that around here alot. Like for instance I can't us the paper work I have for getting a title for my '48!:o I know, but they changed something at the DMV since I bought my car from arkansas and a bill of sale isn't good enough. Anyone out there from a none title state that knows how to fix my problem? My car is ready to start driving and I need to get the paper straightened out.

it all for me !!!! i have had it longer than any car i have ever own .i have had it for 3 years ,i have ordered a progressive automotive automotive frame with c4 vette frt and c4 independent rear .i has a 427ci in it now . i want to work on it but i cant now because of coustomer cars .
i saw the photos of the ranchero looks like you are making progress.i cant wait to see it done .

I know what you mean on the lack of time for your own, Kenny !!!! Looks like another couple weeks on other cars, then MAYBE I can get at least a couple of weeks in on the Ranchero again. Have to get the cage bent up and installed next, then hang the motor and suspension. Sure would like to have it up in the spring !!! Hope you can find some time to get back on the '61, anxious to see it with all the tin on sitting on the floor, it's going to have a great stance.

Hey '59, yup, '67 Mustang quarters and door panels. Guess I must have ordered the wrong parts, huh??? So far the only unmodifed panel on the car is the one that separates the cab from the bed.....Not to worry though, it will have to get some mods to fit the cage in!!!!

What size are those rims on that chevy KennyD? Looks like some coddington 17" but I'm just guessing. Very cool indeed, is it going to stay a hardtop or is there a topless conversion coming?;)

brickman , 22s and 18s intro's , i was going to make it a roadster and shorten the 1/4 panels a little . but i now have decided to leave it a bubbletop.

ok full pictures of the car. here's the story these pictures were taken in 1980 when my dad first bought the car in california. so they're older pictures but since then there really haven't been many pictures taken of it because it was sitting up in our barn.

ya its gunna be a fun project. Right now i'm stripping the frame and getting ready for suspention and new motor and tranny mounts. I just got the new front mustang II crossmember put in last thursday. I can't wait to finish up this rolling chasis. :D

My big news is I fractured my finger last weekend;a chain slipped on the hoist and I dropped the #$%&^*ing motor on my hand. I've got that finger "buddy-taped" to its neighbor in a Cub Scout salute for a couple of weeks. Doc says it's a "stable" hairline fracture, useable as long as I don't put too much stress on it.

Got the engine and the tranny together at long last; swapping the 302 accessories and timing cover onto the 5.0 turned into an 8-hour job. Nothing fit; locator pins had to be wriggled out and the entire timing cover had to be hollowed out with a grinder and a cutting wheel. Then there was the discovery (too late, of course) that 5.0L H.O. heads are not ambidextrous, as are the 289 heads. Whoops. Gee, do I spend another $50 on head gaskets and another morning taking it back down, or do I fabricate block-off plates for the EGR intakes?

I have a machine shop at my work (I'm a maintenance / facilities tech), so I'm fabricating this week.

Sheesh, the distributor gear had to be swapped, the flexplate rebalanced (and the machinist didn't leave room for the eccentric nuts -- I had a GREAT time working around that one!) -- it goes on and on. Amazing how "the same engine" (302 vs. 5.0) can have so many differences!

But it's all together, now; Saturday I'll drop it in. Yay team.

wow man. hope the finger gets better soon. I'm about to take a short trip out of town i finally found a bone yard about an hour away that has mustang II's and pinto's that i can get the front end off of for parts for my front suspension. here's the part about this summer i don't like. next friday i leave for college so the car get's put away in storage until i can find some time to come up and finish it. I hope to have a painted rolling chasis by that time. lots of work not too much time. I'll see you guyz around.

I have put the car on hold and started working on the garage, soon the 94deg days will give away to 4 deg days:CRY: The garage is getting finished after 18yrs, insulation, drywall, car lift, DirectTV and HEAT you know, all the things that a guy can not do without:D

hey guys i have a very important question. I have a full mustang II suspension less the calipers and rotors. I need to know what car to pull those off of?? money is slim so i can't buy new ones i have to go with bone yard parts. please help...

jcdean, any ford granda rotor and caliper will work with a little spacer ring and they are 5 lug. They are also bigger than stock MusII. I wanted to go with chevy bolt pattern so I bought a set of after market rotors from speedway(5 lug) and a got some stock MusII calipers at O'Reillys.

Glad to see that you are starting to get around HotRod59, I know personally that back pain is bad news. Best for you and this will just give you time to make plans for you car!:D

Was_II, I didn't know that they wern't the same engine, but I am not a avid ford fan.

We are heading off to our first really big show in Branson Mo. this weekend. Needless to say I am very nervous, double and triple checking bolts and all that stuff.:D I hope she does ok, it will be her first out of towner and about 250 miles round trip. We'll see, I have the interior all done except for the headliner and bolting everything down. Maybe I will see some of you there, it's going to be a great weekend.:D
