Either kind work fine. Just make sure you step up and use the custom wrenches make for each size, it's better than trying to duct tape a Crescent wrench to prevent damage. Also, if you don't like the bright colors of the anodizing it can be removed with oven cleaner. Of course then you have to work a little more at keeping them bright looking.
My 39 Dodge is setting idle in my Son in laws garage .I havent touched the Dodge for about a year .I sold my Son in law my previous house to include the garage,as I have recently built a new home with attached garage. My darling wife quickley claimed the garage for her car soI am building a nother garage/Pouting House for myself. I shoul move my car here shortly. I still need wireing,exhaust,glass and upholstery. I hope to be able to drive it this summer. Merry Christmas to all. CAN I SAY THAT?
I understand how the "Push-on" type works, but how does the other work? Is there a way that they screw done over the hose or something?

lots of screwing going on , but you screw the back 1/2 off of the front 1/2, screw the outer back 1/2 over the hose and then screw the front 1/2 back into the back 1/2, and there is a insert that goes up into the hose to seal it. its not hard to do , just takes a little time. they are alum. so you need to use some grease on the fittings when you are putting them togother or they will weld togother.Quote:

its nice, but cost so much :CRY: i saw today where they have low pressure braided hose now, i always used hi pressure for everything. might be cheaper. :cool:Quote:

Hey Brickman, Can you lay brick,I used to but I shot my arm and wrist out back in the 1980 something, Fell off a scaffold in the 1990 something. Im only a shadow of my former self. Ihave a few pictures in my gallery. I need to take some more recent and post them.
oh ya, you bet. I have been a mason for going on 35 years now, and I have all the injuries and scares to prove it. Bad back, torn biceps, bad knees, all from falling of scaffolds. Lifting too much wieght and years of really hard work takes it toll. I am still hangin in there, have to get money for hotrodding somewhere!!:D
I got the Dodge home yesterday as the roads were dry. I pulled it home on a trailer .Does that make it a TRAILER QUEEN??? I hope to take some more recent photos this weekend and post them in my gallery. I was fortunate enough to retire last year from VA Medical center as Maint Foreman. I used to put lights up around houses and lay brick at night. LATER""
Got most of the front end stuff tacked together the last couple days. Strut jigs are gone and the real wheels are on.

I have the paint and the parts to get started, just haven't gotten my space yet. Working on it hard, I hate seeing it just sitting there.
Got everything tacked together sept' for a few gussets. Body is off to get at the jionts for welding.
Lot a pipes to melt together.
That is alot of pipe to wrap into one little space. Now you have to weld them all? You'll be doing that for a few days alright. Looks very safe though, and ready to go fast huh?
ProZ, you're in a whole 'nuther world. I hope it goes fast after all that work. Are you sure you would not do better being a professional welder? I appreciate your decent comments about my tires (only 9 1/4" wide) and when I recall the planning and measuring I did for just one added crossmember and a driveshaft loop, that was kindergarden by comparison. Amazing work!

Yea' Brick the toughest part will be NOT missing any joints .... there are a bunch for sure. Once I get it welded as far as I can on the jig, I'll build a rotisserie so I can rotate the chassis to get at the rest.
Thanks Don, welding as a hobby is plenty good for me. If I had to do it for a living it would be too much work. I usta' B a welder for Winnebago Ind. and as a year around job it wasn't so much fun. Knowing I can walk away from it when I want makes it much more enjoyable. :)
Whats your plans for building a rotisserie? Are you going to do it all from scratch? small_block and I are thinking about building one for a 'cuda project we are going to start. We where thinking of using something like how a engine stand works and just figure making the size it needs to weld to something solid. Any ideas are more than welcome.
Only a few more little things left to make it complete.
Actually I had kicked around yellow,(not literally) but I think I'll be going with dark blue or black. Then again I could change my mind again, never know. :confused:

Hi Dave, It's so frustrating to know that I am ready this very minute, and I still have 92 days to go, but who's counting.
The Camaro is just going to be freshened up this winter. He is getting new rear tires, and wants to release some of that power that is locked up in that engine. Now that he has been in the 10's, he wants to get into the 9's. I wonder where he got that from. hehehe

I'm doing a 54 Chevy Pick-up. My wife's actually.
It started out as a sight unseen purchase. She wanted a truck to pick up gardening supplies, her hobby.
She sent a buddy of mine 50 miles to look at this for her. He called her and told her to by it. She had HIM write the check, and the old owner delivered it to my home. I asked everone that was hanging around my place if they knew what this was all about. I had intentions of building her a 65/67 shortbed. She wanted a 54 because that's when she was born.
A few days later I test drove it. NO WAY she was gonna be able to drive this monster...a 1 ton chasis. That was the begining, 3-1/2 yrs ago, and a lot of pocket change.
It wasn't suppose to be a show truck either. But every time I talked to someone, they ended up talking me in to top quality stuff.
I'm all the way up to re-installing the windows, then start the interior/sound system. I hope to have this project completed by mid spring, for all the local get togethers.
Seems most projects go that way JD. Starts out to be something simple, ends up being a major transformation!!! Heck, if it was easy and quick everybody would be doing it !!!
Finally got the chassis off the jig and built a rotisserie so i can weld the tough to get at stuff.
I know what you mean Dave. This started out as a mild street build.

hey pro70z28 it looks good and i know it right . but my back is getting sore just looking at all that tig welding. thank god for thumb wheel on the tig torch hope you have one ?or your leg may fall off to. my new welder has one . i shure like it to .i use it on headders and over head welding hard to run the gas pedal somtimes :HMMM:

What engine does the car have in it fordsfairlane? Thats alot of car, should have a monster motor for it huh?

the car has the original 413 engine in it . and yes its very big .
i guess thats why I like it so much, you cant beet the way the big cars would seem to float down the road.
Looks like you have a bit of welding time in front of you, Pro Z. What's next?? About time to start fitting the body shell???
I'd like to get the rear end together and the front suspension / steering set-up by this spring so we can take it through the tech lanes and get a sticker on the cage. Problee' will expire by the time it's running but at least I'll know it will pass inspection.
So you can go through all the inspections without having the body on it Pro70? Sounds like you'll have it pretty close by that time huh?
I got some great news today, the opening finally came up at my bro's shop so I will be getting my car in to work on it! I am stoked to get started, I have alot to do before the first run in the end of march. New engine, finish interior, trunk, engine compartment and paint the body. Don't know if I will make it but I know the mechanical part will be done before it comes out for next summer. I ordered my new aluminum radiator tonight along with a reistate controller for the fan too. I have bought new "Cool Hose's" for it, all chrome pans for underneath, new hard fuel line so it will be solid from stem to stern. I also bought a whole stereo set-up from a bud including amps. 15" subs, 2 more pairs of 6x9's and an equailizer. I can't wait to get started!:D
Sounds like you have your work cut out for you Brick!!! The end of March will be here fairly soon...... Good to hear you have a nice shop to be working in now, makes everything go a lot better.
Yes it is Dave but we're right on track, old engine is out. Frame has been detailed and the new engine is going in. Next fabricating the mounts for the new aluminum radiator and install it. Upward and onward!!!:D I'm having a ball I have to say.
out with the old, in with the new!! I love this hobby!:D

Just about done with my '62 C10 except some wheels, its been a long process as a 16 year old with three sports lacks time and money lol. Any ideas for wheels?????
