I like it though, I'm not really sure why but I do. There is something nostalgic about it I guess. Not as much as this one, this is way too much for me.

as you all know i am building a 1973 porsche 914 with a 935 style body kit the motor is a 1964 283 the bore is 4in and the stroke is 3in. i have 461 double hump heads. with a holley 4160 600cfm carb. i did have a 327 in the car (it was the motor that was in when i got it) but it dropped a valve and upon further inspection i saw that the cylinder wall was cracked. well i called around and it was going to cost $100 to sleeve it i knew where i could get a 283 with pistons and crank for $125 so i bought it i had the heads reworked by a moron and all i ogt back was a set of clean paper weights all the did was resurface them so i took the heads to somebody else and had the valves replaced and new seats well the motor is almost ready to go in all i have to do is bolt on the intake and finish the engin compartment and im going to put it in the car sometime this week im only 16 and this is my daily driver i have done all the work and funding on my own so i am very proud of my car thanks
Tyler

Gremlins are myriad and dastardly: primarily, my tach pegs out with key on, even with the engine not running. It started doing this after I removed and reinstalled the coil and distributor. Nothing else has changed, and all the wiring I took apart is in quick-disconnects so I know it's not cross-wired.
Owning a rod means dreaming of finding the previous owner of your car. . . and killing him. The previous owner put in power windows, an alarm, a stereo, remote keyless entry. . . . under the dash it looks like R2D2 threw up.
I just need to buy a Painless kit and rewire the whole thing. Half the exsiting wiring harness is emissions crap.
Any ideas, PM me; let's not get this thread too off-topic.
Man I hate starting over.
Oh man thats enough to make a grown man cry.

I'll take a few more pictures once I get the bungee cords off.

Just pulled the bungee cords off the dash after the adhesive sat all night. Looks pretty nice and it feels plenty solid.

Cry isn't the word man!! That is why there has to be hunting seasons! Thats a drag DIYRodder, hope everyone was ok.;)
Mid plate is the last around the engine Pro?
Nice looking dash cudaman, sweet car. I am looking for a 67,8,9 dart to put a BB in. I have a sweet little 400 stroker in my pick-em-up truck!
finishing up a frame off on a 68 ss 396 chevelle

Finally startin' to work on the mid plate.
Shot of the spindle cutting the mounting holes N' then the contour.
Takes a long time but at least I can do it in house and it's cut to very close tolerances. takes about 14 trips around the contour to cut through the 1/4" plate.
proZ ...wish I had one of them thar CNC's in my garage:( *insert jelousy here*
BG
Took about 1 1/2 hrs. just to make the contour cut, but it sure cuts straighter than I ever could.
BG: I do have waaaaaaay tooooooo much fun with that thing...... It spoils me.
Lookin real good. Did you make your headers?

I also like the idea of the cnc machine in the garage, thats very cool and the car is looking cool too ProZ.
Here is a pic of the motor in, I will be starting her up soon and I will be very excited the day that happens.
Hope this goes threw I'm not very good at this but here we go . this is a pic of the engine in the 46 so far.
Brickman,
i dont have any pics but the motor fits in nice it is really much easier to work on than the original motor there is more room around it in fact it is much easier that working on the motor in a FR car it is like diriving a rocket i love this car
Well I will try this again if it don't work sorry.I'll keep tring.
just finished painting the frame black and the rear end and drive train candy apple green on the dakota and i have finished stripping off all the paint on the body and buffing and smoothing out the sheet metal now all i need to do is put the bed back on and shoot all the metal with clear coat also put on a new set of perellies on the wide rims so it has a mean stance on all four corners waiting on the sheet of copper to make the tonough cover for the bed and i baught some copper covered rivits and ordered the old skool safty glass with the webed metal mesh in it for the back window will put some pics in soon
Brickman, I like that color. That's going to look great on your Chevy's body style. Good choice.:) :) :) :)
DIYRodder, ouch!!!!! Bambi sure messed up your Olds.
Thanks oldF100fordman, I like it too. It's getting closer to running and the closer it gets the more things seem to slow down, it just doesn't happen fast enough sometimes. Our local clubs own car show is in 2 1/2 months and it would be awesome to have it going by then thats for sure.
I hope this goes threw if it does this is my 46 ford it has a mustang 2 frount end the rear is pro streeted I put a 12 bolt olds rear end that has been cut with a ladder bar set up the engine is a .60 over olds 455 with a offy 2 four intake all this was in my 82 cutlass last year I found this old ford and I've all ways loved the old fat fender cars and I have not seen a tubbed sedan around Indy before. hope the pic. shows up .
