Nice color choice on the Nova.:D
well, im new here and i was just gonna let yall know what projects im working on right now. my main priority is the '70 dodge coronet wagon. the woman that had it before me bought it brand new in 1969 when she was 70, lol. she drove it from the dealership, straight to a body shop to have it painted.....brown, lol. oh well...it was originally white. it has a 318 with a 2 barrel. its the slowest car i have ever owned. so far, i've lowered it 3 inches in the back and about 4 in the front. added the wide white walls and disc caps. did a quick tune up on it and fixed the brakes.
after i get done with that, its on to the corvette. im building a 350 for it. steel crank, forged flat tops, std. bore. nitrous/blower cam, 2.02 heads with 76 cc chambers that have been fully ported. screw-in studs, roller rockers, erson gear drive. its getting a victor jr. intake with a modifyed 750 holley. im buyin a P-1SC procharger for it. hopefully gonna be running 15 lbs. of boost. gonna try for more boost....i'll see exactly how much it can take and still run on 93. also, while its down im stripping it down to the bare 'glass and redoing it. it has imron paint on it....its been on there for close to 19 years.
im taking the motor thats in the vette right now (327 w/ B&M blower) and putting it into a '34 ford 5 window coupe. its chopped 5 inches and channeled 6 inches. i'll probly be putting a 4 speed in it. but that's quite a ways off. sorry for the super long post but i thought i'd fill everyone in on my stuff
Not too bad a price on the aluminum radiators, Brickman. Got me a new source!!! They work so nice and the price is right, now. Way I see it, it's the only way to go
finally it seems like somthing's happening. mostly done with the frame now, sandblasted, rusted out sections replaced, and boxed. it has a TCI Mustang II IFS and an 00' Ranger rearend with 3.73 posi and the leafs and rear shocks and mounts are also off the ranger. fuel tank is out of a 76 chevy van. now i think i'll start putting together the 348, got most of it back the other day and i'm kinda nervous about getting the pistons in that goofy sucker without breaking a ring  .
I here ya, that's the hardest part of building a 348 or 409, Trying to get the pistons back in the hole without breaking a ring cause of the angle of the block deck. Wish you luck bud. :)Quote:

Looking Good 53 !!! You've made a heck of a lot of progress in a short time. Gonna be a nice cruizer.
Man- O - Man Dave; You do some awesome work!!!
Wish I lived closer to you and I've probably said it a hundred times. Every thing I've seen in pictures of your work is allways clean and sharp. Allways super smooth looking stuff, It's unbeliveable how one person could have so much talent to do some of the stuff you do with cars. Keep the Pictuers comming.

Well,
Here are a few pictures of my almost completed Frame. I am building a '35 Ford 5 window Coupe.
The Frame has Heidt's Superide II front w/2" lowered Spindles, front Sway Bar. It is setup for a 454 w/a 700R4. The rear Frame has been narrowed, c'd, w/a Pete and Jake's 4 Bar. It has a narrowed 9" big bearing rear with a 3.55 4-pin Trac Loc, and a Deuce Factory rear Sway Bar. It runs a polished 4 wheel Wilwood Disc system, with polished Stainless Steel brake lines. It has 17" front and 20"X10" rear chrome American Torque Thrust II's. Most of the Chassis is Powdercoated.
The Body work is happening now. I will post some pic's at a later date. I think it will take the remainder of this year to get the Body in shape and mounted w/Fenders and such
I hope I can post these pic's- if not, can someone tell me how?
Thanks for looking,
Craig
Well,
It won't let me post the pic's-say the File is too big-anyone know how to make it work?
Thanks,
Craig
Thanks Vegas, you're making me blush !!!!! Really wish I could quit taking on customer cars and just do my own. Approaching burnout or something, I guess.
I hope I can post these pic's- if not, can someone tell me how?

Dave That's the way it go's, ya work on every one else's and are to tired to work on your own. and that's very common with painters, plumbers and electrician.

Does anyone know how to re-size a File? IWhen I try and upload it says that I have exceeded the 250kb File size-
Craig
Craig, Send the file to our32@aol.com and I'll fix it up so you can post it.
I use my paint shop pro7 program to resize but I think the software that comes with your camera may have a resize edit, my hp camera does.
I have never worked on a 348 but it sounds like an adventure. I have enough trouble figuring out my little SBC!
:D
I hope these come out this time-Thank you pro60chevy!
Craig

a picture of my engine, when it's done! Next to his engine my
351 cleveland, will look like it's being pushed around the block
in a baby carriage, and it will still be wearing it's booties.
Dang it Pro!!!

Dave,
The Nomad is for Kenny Sr. his personal ride!
wait until you see the completed pics of this car it is going to be amazing! The amount of small details in this car is insane!
Hehehe I still have to figure out how to get to work together with my chassis, otherwise it will just be another useless hunk of aluminum.Quote:

Have you drivin a old Ford lately?
And this too. Under that 750 BG Holley is a new Edelbrock Torker.
My cam only goes from 3200 to 6500 rpms so it right line with the Torkers 3000 to 7000rpm's. And my new SRP 11.72 pistons and Eagle H beam rods should handle that with no problems, still waiting on my new fluid damper to get every thing balanced though.

Those parts are so cute! Just kidding, I never pick on anyone's stuff. There is usually two words that are said when anyone sees the motor, and the first word is "Holy". We are getting so close to the end of the build-up, that we are throwing a car cover over it when it's not being worked on. Secret Squirrel stuff is better left un-seen.
Ya Pro60chevy; I know what you mean abuot the squirrel stuff.
When I was growing up in Las Vegas, We used to go out and race on the old LA highway. Well there was nothing out there back then, And I was runnin a 440 Magnum Charger.
People used to want to look under the hood, So I keeped every thing on the out side of the engine, looking stock as possible.
Now of course every thing on the inside was polished and balanced, That car fooled alot of guy's, But I did, alot of walking back in those days. Some thing was allways breaking, But I guess that's what happens when you put all that torque, to the ground all at once. And your working on a Elephant budget, {Penuts}.
HE! HE!

Have you drivin a old Ford lately?
I'll be getting on my 283 65 Nova 2dr. sedan reconstruction soon. Been sitting almost 2 years. Need all front end sheet metal, bumper , grill, radiator , full interior and all that. It will be going together pretty much stock.
I've taken the garage back from the kids!!! After several years off, reentering college to get my teaching degree, helping the kids build Zs and porsches, (and a few divorces) I've started to work on my '33 Tudor again. I couldn't be more excited or having more fun! I bought the '33 in 1990 as a stocker sans running gear and interior. Perfect body in black with bad floorboards. I pulled the fenders to start working on the chassis and was floored by how great it looked as a hiboy! (just as well...exwife sold the fenders during the divorce) I boxed the frame and got it down in the dirt with a 4" dropped front axle and 4 bar setup. A buddy gave me a Mustang steering box so guess what kind of steering it's got. I'm running an early 327 and TH350 with a Gennie shifter. I scavenged a 8" with 3:55 gears and used the leaf springs from a Mustang II to mount it with custom mounts I built. When it came to recessing the firewall I resorted to an old trick with a twist. I wanted to used a wheelbarrow body but wanted to simply allow for the dist cap, so I used a kid's wheelbarrow. It not only worked out great, it leaves most of the legroom and looks factory after it was painted. I'm not running a hood so I found some old ribbed valve covers and an early Offy intake.
Gonna be a GREAT summer!
:whacked:
Looks like your getting ready to put a hot rod together huh Vara4
Sounds like you've got a great start dljdad, with no-one else's help, got any pic's?
When will you get your car twitch?
Hey Brickman, that coupe of yours certainly isn't any slouch !!!! Pat yourself on the back, too !!!!!!
Ya Brickman; Just a little some thing for all those 302 mustangs running around here, making noise. But I still gotta Talk
Dave Severson into comming down for a visit or a vacation or some work or or or. HE! HE! HE! I'll be needing so good pionters
when I start on my frame and body. And Dave's dang good/great at what he does, In fact he's a artist. Help me out here Brickman, I'm butterin Dave up. HE! HE!
~ Vegas ~
Thanks Brickman. Yes, I've always had help. My oldest son has been crawling under cars with me ever since he could walk. His art project for the 5th grade was a front fender from a '55 chev (it was not carworthy) which he sliced in 1/2 lengthwise, painted and flamed. He mounted a lamp behind it and it made for a cool wall-hanging. I helped him buy a '64 bug when he was 14 and he's been busy ever since. This year he has built a ministock and is racing at South Sound Speedway. He's headed to WSU this fall and will be a junior in their engineering program. He applied for an internship with Ford (FORD???) Ya...I had help.
Thats very cool dljdad, it's the best when you can do it with your kids, your a lucky man.
Thanks Dave, my car is no ridler winner but I'm going to really enjoy it and thats all that counts to me!:D As a matter of fact, I drove her home today and that was Absolutely awesome!!, it still needs alot of work, but its nice to have it home and running!:D Just need finish the wiring, paint her, do the interior and she's done! Looking like I'll make our Clubs show yet, June 12th is getting closer. I hope that some of the CHR members will show up too.
I can use some center caps for those '85 camaro wheels if anyone has any.
