Sixteen gallons of 87/93 octane sitting right behind you sloshing around in an unbaffled tank to me is about as bad as those with Model A Fords that have 10 gallons literally sitting in their laps just waiting to spring a leak - either from age or, gasp, an accident. There are better ways!! Most of the Chebbie P/U rods that I see have the below bed mounted tank with an access door to fill it up. I like the middle mounted version so you can pull up on either side of the truck to fill, but a side version would work as well.
