Falcon those are a couple great looking line cars.
Falcon also looks like your wearing out the wrenches in the garage. See lots of headway there and no chairs to sit and ponder in . Is the fan keeping that 4.6 cooled off .

I have figured out what your doing Pro70, you have downloaded those bad ass engine sounds off of the comp cams website and you play them full blast on the shop stereo!! Man, thats even better yet!!!
You've been busy Falcon, car is looking good so far, pretty good shape.
Busted!!!!!:LOL:Quote:

I found from my truck ,it helps to tilt the head back when making the rubber burning sounds It adds to the authenticity
This reminds me of when my wife walked in the garage and I was sitting on the floor of the bare body holding up a steering wheel. I guess we never grow up....:) Thanks for all the comments, guys; you're building some great looking rides. It's been a few years since I got to work on one of my own projects; I'm enjoying it very much. This website is a great motivator.:D
Got my package from Jerry Bickel today. Bad news is they sent me smooth bore pin & block u-joints. (I already have a pair of those. ) Called em' up and they are sending out the splined needle bearing units. Good news,
BTW: I also got my new Grant steering wheel W/ button. When I had it in my hands I almost slipped & did a V-A-R-O-O-M but I caught myself just in time. That was close.
STILL NO VAROOM HERE
HaHaHa!! Almost slipped huh, don't worry Pro70, I have done it enough for all of us! By the way, De-Nile isn't a river in Egypt! Hey, the button you are talking about on that wheel is a horn button or for something else?
I still get caught Falcon, the wife caught me the other night sitting in the car just staring around, she thinks that oldtimers is setting in! Hell, it may have!!!HaHaHa!!!
The button will be for a trans brake or a shifter. Haven't decided yet.
I'm not familiar with that, like a F1 paddle shifter? Is the trans break like a line lock?
The trans brake engages Low & reverse @ the same time. Locks up the tranny so you can get up on the converter. Let go of the "button" and away you go.     Shift button would be for a Co2 actuated shifter.
Pro70 never really new how they worked . So thats how you guys get it cranking and moving all in one motion .
I see, that is sweet new tech, you can get right up on the pipe that way. That is very cool and so is the CO2 shifter is very cool, I learned about them at monster mopar weekend in St. Louis last year. They are very smooth and very fast.

Found more stuff on the front steps today. Got the wheel tubs & the deck lid. Oh, & I got the correct steering u-joint too. Still need to find a 3/4''x3/4'' spline to spline joint, since JB says they don't carry them {even though there's a pic. of one in their catalog} In their defense it is a 2002 catalog.

Pro70 the cam is looking good no holes left . Well when you go to 66 since im so close i think that will have to be a day i trip out there too.
I finally got they 94 mustang pedals and clamped them up for a site . They look alot better then the 67 pedals i was going to install. With the clutch cable mechanism being thru the bracket and coming out on the right the fit should go well. The booster is a bit larger then i wanted may have to do something different there . Still studying this brake system stuff and will have to look at a few more apps before i do the firewall up .
Looks good, Bobby. I'm trying to decide whether to go with a floor mount master cylinder/pedal assembly or a firewall mount. What made you go with this?
Falcon thanks . I like hanging pedals and just wanting to seal out the outside as best i can . Floor pedals are ok for a era look in a A but i want to bring this up with parts from the 80 and 90's also the theme being all ford .
I chose under floor because I like the look of a very clean firewall, I never really looked at it as nostalgic but I guess it really is.
Brick like you i like them in the floor too in certain cars , for this one i am looking for new hardware to build with and a stick is utmost important for me so ill try these and test fit if they present to much probs off to another set from something else ??? probe , focus but it has to be Ford . When i got my 48 fleetmaster back in 82 it had a hanger from a Caddy with its tilt tele also . I still have the hood emblems and rear view mirror from it .
So far even the steel for bracing is from Ford so im holding with the theme . LOL
The front suspension being Heidts has a Ford bolt pattern hope that counts but it was a ride and safety choice and what i know my capabilitys were able to do . It was a very simple install .
I have seen some sweet three cylinder twin pedals in speedway I have been wanting to try, everything is under the dash. I always thought that would be great for a bucket or a highboy. I also was thinking of that set-up in my dart to help clean up the dash.
I finished the install on the new gauges today, next hook everything up in the console tomorrow.
The gauges look great, Brick!!! Shouldn't be long til it's all done, huh???
Brick gauges are great . Picking gauges is a chore on its own .
I came very very close to firing the car up today, if it wasn't for a bad starter it would have happened. Grrrrrr..... Gonna try for next weekend.
Everything else is done, mostly, almost, I think.
Nicely done pro60, I would sure like to be a fly on the wall when the mean mother cranks up, that would be great.
Thanks guys, I really think its an improvement, I got the console finished and everything working including the tach and the stereo today. I am slowly gaining, with a couple more hours I'll be ready for Springfield NSRA next weekend.
Well put body back on frame . I had to remove a section of channell to get body down on frame where i kicked it up . I wanted to see how kick up I put in would fit up . I made kick up 2 " just like the spacer block that was placed there during assembly . I will weld a mount to crossmember and bolt body to it . I made it good and level so body set straight across on it .
Found out 5.0 serpentine belt drive has a shorter water pump so may go to that . Will have to do some more research on it. Ford Racing sells this pump and one with new timing cover that is 1 3/4 inches shorter taking a 5.0 block to 27 inches long from pump to rear of engine block . That is a big savings in length over stock one on this 1984 .
That mount must be the very rear one huh bluestang? It looks like it is fitting really well after the cutting, body sits good other than that?
Has anybody ever had the top a-frame keep coming loose on a mus II? I have had to tighten mine(drivers side)twice. What would cause it to come loose? Maybe to knurling is worn out or something. This has me worried, once I put it back in alignment, it seems to drive great again. Very strange. boggles the mind. Anyone know where you can get a 6 1/2" shifter boot? Here is a shot of recovered console finally installed.
Brick son had a 85 Chrys that did the same thing . Hitting it with impacts would not hold it . I finally put a long cheater on a 1/2 " dr and pulled it good and tight never came loose again.
Brick i would think if you look at a camaro or stang with a stick they may offer a 6 " boot or longer . If you find it before me let me know i too will need one for the 5 spd. Here is one sight never checked them yet .Looking now i see you mean in length my bad.
Body is sitting great Brick thank you .
Oh bye the way console looks good .

Thanks Blue, I appreciate it, I don't have to tell you that not knowing anything about upholstry makes things a real adventure but great fun. Something like that E-brake boot. I may just raise the shifter up some more and put a smaller boot on it also. Don't know, I will be looking at them seriously this weekend in Springfield.
Brick im going to try my first upholestry on the A some tweed material simular to original. Seat springs and wood is fantastic so i can stay original shape also . Hope wifes machine dont burn up this use will be more then she used it in 25 yrs LOL . . You did a great job looks smooth and formed .
I can't take the gredit for that, the wife is the seemstress of the family. Oh and she sewed all of it on a $150.00 machine, it's all tweed also so I can tell you it isn't any sweat if you have a good sharp needle in your machine.
Brick thank you i feel more comfortable now . Hats off to the wife . I was wondering if a light machine would do that material and survive. I had home mech in 7th grade i may be able to do this with out sewing the finger .
The buffing is progressing on Bill's C-10, still have to get at the suspension and get this beast down!!!!
Not much on my '71, dug out an old set of bed rails and set them on to look at. Thinking maybe powder coat them "red chrome" and build a racer back fairing (or whatever we call them today) on the front of the box.... If I'd quit coming up with ideas, might actually get the dang thing done someday...... 16 years and counting!!!! Geez!!!!
Dave the trucks are looking good . elbow's have to be getting tired . There sure is alot of real estate to buff out there.
Lookin' good Dave.
Got the door posts boxed in and started aligning the passenger side door. Going to install bear claw latches & make lift off hinges.
Firewall is starting to shape up, Pro!!! I think the lift off hinges and Bear Claws will be a lot more convenient then the straps!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Pro get some good shots of bear claw install . I need some ideas to help me. I'd keep the straps as extra holding power.
Really looking good pro70, may I ask a dumb question? What is the purpose of having the doors so they lift off?
Makes it easier to work on when the chebbie breaks down........
I finally got to the point of firing up the engine yesterday. Man, it sure felt good to hear noise coming from those mufflers again.

Pro 60 wow that sure sounds great . So what is it 3 or 4 gallons to the mile. I do enjoy hearing those big cammed engines pulse.
To be honest, I go thru 2 1/2 gallons on every 1/4 mile pass, from start-up to shut-down, so it's more like 10 gallons to the mile.
I worked on the car last night till the wee hours of the early evening to get the car to this point. About another 3 hours worth of work, and it'll be done, so to speak.
