I just got twp new full quareters and a 7 peice trunk kit and a full floor pan.All new bushings body and control arm I just boxed the rears brand new coil springs .As soon as it gets warmer i will start putting it together.I had a shorteg in funds but am back on track

My car is now off to the glass shop to get new rear side windows and take the windsheild out so it can go back to paint......and then the world will change as I know it.

I took a little break but one door is welded and ground and other one is allmost ready to grind.looks better though with doors on .
I actually got the car turned around in the shop last Saturday. :eek: This winter has been to busy to get much done on the "Z". Now that I have it turned around it'll be easier to square up the body panels so I can start building body mounts.

Thats looking great bluestang, she is coming together pretty good. I am 2 toneing my car in blues and using a silver and purple stripe seperating them.

Real happy these days. I finally got the car out of the garage and off to have it balasted and then body and paint. Its been a long time coming for my 67 cougar. I will be updating with pictures soon.:D :D :D

I've been looking for a color scheme though out the start of the 31 . Have some ideas but none are locked yet.

Well, the window channels didn't show up for the Merc, so I fabbed the reinforcements for the seats (fiberglass floor, ya know) and got them installed and did some more wiring. Nothing left on the wiring now except the reciever box for the remote.
Decided to play with the 'Maro for a bit, made the right side lower panel for the back end. Spent a lot more time trying to figure out what I wanted then I did building!!!!! Couldn't weld it in, my panel flanger is out on loan so now I have something to do next week while I'm figuring out the rest of it. The new panel will stick out 3" less then the factory plastic bumper (I HATE plastic bumpers)....
Dave pics are teasing . Finish it up and get them pics on here I can't wait. Seeeing this is inspiration to all who follow.
I'll get the other lower corner built, then just a matter of connecting the dots between the corners....Hopefully I can get back to it a bit next week.

Started putting in the new gauges today and I decided that I should probly repaint the dash first. I love these TPI gauges, very nice look for the money.

Got a bit more done this weekend. Seems lately that weekends have become pick-em-up truck time.... Got some more white paint redone under the hood of my '71, and got some primer on that '70 chebby C-10 I've been helping a new to roddin' guy with. Tomorrow is Monday, so back to my own shop!!!!
On the '70 chebby, also installed the factory radio speaker delete option!!! I can't leave anything stock!!!!:LOL: :LOL: :LOL:

That's PAINT on MY TRUCK!!!!! I've had that dang '71 Ford for 16 years now and never have managed to get it done.... Whenever things got slow in the shop I would bring it in and start working on it, then PRESTO, get new work coming out my ears and the '71 would go back to the warehouse. Originally had a 428 CJ in it. The block and heads had the correct date code for a Mustang a friend of mine was building, sold him the CJ... Built a nice fresh 390 GT engine, Edelbrock heads, good crank and rods, tri-power, the works. Well, along comes this guy building a 'glass Cobra and the 390 was sold. So now it has a 351 Windsor in it, stocker with a factory 4 barrell. Hopefully nobody will buy this engine and I can get the dang pickup done and sold...!!!!!!:LOL: :LOL: :LOL: :LOL:
And the white stuff on the little car is snow...Got about 6" of it this weekend.... Might even be able to get my annual snowmobile ride in sometime tomorrow!!!!

i've been looking for a windsor or at least a set of 69 0r 70 heads for one . The rod would look great with a 351 in its rails.
351 W's are fairly easy to come by around here. Just picked up another one in a Mercury that was given to me for hauling it away!!!! Engine runs good, tranny shifts, can't argue with the price.
As for the good Windsor factory heads, good luck. They are getting kind of hard to come by. With all the competition in the aftermarket head area, prices are fairly reasonable for an assembled set... Sometimes buying them new and assembled is a viable alternative to sticking a bunch of money into a set of heads that won't perform near as good anyhow....
Heads are cheaper now , but i dont like the aluminum . I passed a set in 2003 for 250 they were done but had been sitting awhile. Hindsite is kicking in now .
There are some really great cast iron heads being made for the Windsor's now. I don't have any problems with the aluminum heads, but if you prefer the cast iron ones many of them will flow as well as the aluminums, and in many cases cost a bit less.....
Cost a bit less now were talking LOL. Leave more for something else.
Lets see Dave, just counting the last 2 pages thats about 57 projects going and taking on more, "Can't get time to get to my stuff" Wow I wonder why!HeHeHe!! Good thing your not full time!!! If I was closer I would have you paint mine too, but it goes in the shop here again thursday.

Yeah well, I got to do something to occupy my time!!!! The most fun one right now is that '70 chebbie pickup. The guy is brand new to hot rodding and right now is so fired up about the truck you wouldn't believe it!!! I get a couple emails every day from him about what to do and how to do it on his truck. I guess getting a new guy started off on the right foot building hot rods is a form of payback to the sport for all the guys who taught me over the years......Quote:

Started building a rear bumper for the Camaro today. The brackets bolt on to the original mounting points on the car....Anybody know why the original brackets aren't centered on the car? Must be one of them chebbie things. The upper tube is 1 1/2" od, going to add a lower one out of 1" od, too. Have to leave room between the two to french in the license plate and want a bit of extra protection on the bottom as the fuel line will exit there from the fuell cell... Both tubes will of course be covered by the lower sheet metal panel.... Here's a couple pics...
Helping getting the younger guys involved is alot of fun I have to agree, I remember when I had that kind of entusiasm. I think I still get that way when I crawl in my ol' hotrod, I just get all wound up again. It is the greatest fun there is with your clothes on! My baby goes back to the paint shop friday for sure, finally!
Well, if we don't help new guys get started, Hot Rodding wouldn't have much of a future....

53 Wagon is 99% done and needed somthing to do this week. Soo I started back on the wifes 57. Got a lot of the floor done, all glass removed. and started the fun:rolleyes: part getting to the good metal.
Here are a few more not much to look at but its better than most I've seen out there for a lot more $. I bought it off Ebay and picked it up south of Evansville IN.
Looks to be in fairly good condition, Charlie.. What are the plans for this one??? Maybe a Big Block Ford for power just to even out the score?????:LOL: :LOL: :LOL:
Well now that would be interesting but I have orders. "Your not going to make MY car a hotrod" I know from experiance that it don't have to sound like one to be one. This could be fun nice and shiney and go like H377.

I hadn't thought about a wagon train I guess I just got tired of all the everyday cars around here. Seems no one wants wagons. Diner ha I make diner around here.
