Thanks Duane. This Saturday is chassis tech day. ohhh boy:o
good looking chassis pro. :toocool:
Very very Awesome Pro70Z! I love the last shot of the tires from the rear, very cool. That car is going to be bad to the bone!:D
well just got my income tax check. guess what i'm going to spend it on. i have 2 questions for you. i was told that i could use a s-10 frame for my 47 chevy coupe, what do you think? chop or not to chop? i want to lower the roof about 3 inches. talk to me my brother. the shadow:whacked:
Inome tax Return!? Whats that!! If I had to pay less than a thousand dollars I would let my wife drag me on my butt behind the car to Detroit and sing motown on a street corner in a vat of ice for a month!!!:D :D Ain't going to happen!! Good the hear from you shadow and I didn't look into the S10 frame for my car (didn't know about it). The rage was MusII, but....Doesn't mean it won't work. Measure the frame on your Coupe?/Fleetline? and see if is the same or close to the design of the chevys. I think a guy could work an S10 under any car. I didn't know there was a coupe in the fleetline line. Got a pic?
Chop? Truely an individual taste thing, makes the car special and adds flavor IMHO. I didn't have the know how or I would have chopped my car alot more than three. This is a pic of one of my local bro's car he built, can anyone argue that this air ride cruiser isn't bad to the bone?
I have learned a valuable lesson the last 2 weeks, lesson #1; Never put anything thats not brand new on a new engine because it will immediatly go south on you. Number 2; You will be repeating lesson 1 alot!:D I think I am getting the bugs out, I drove it up through town yesterday and back to the shop without getting stuck so thats a good thing. New sparkplug wires on tomorrow and it will be running well then I believe. Valves are quite, no exhaust leaks...Damn I may have done it!:D :D Time for her spring cleaning and detail.
Well, got the box off the '71 again...Got to get the suspension finished up, relocate the upper shock mounts and install the lower shock mounts. Geez, my garage sure is small compared to the old shop!!! Got a bunch of shinys and other goodies for it, radiator should be here tomorrow. Hopefully it will be done and painted by the end of April.
Well just some little steps over the winter but now I can't think of any further stuff to do before mounting the top of the roadster body on the Bebops fender-floor. Yesterday I put some foam tape with a sticky surface between the floor panel and the frame rails. It looks like I'll have to round up some buddies to help lift the body on the frame. Because of the internal steel framework the 'glass body is surprisingly heavy and when we took it off to separate the floor section and make all the cutouts it took four men to lift it and there was some grunting going on. To put it back we will have to lift it up onto the frame. I'll get some pictures when we get the body back together.

Geez, you're way ahead of me, Don!!!! Really anxious to see the pics of the body on the chassis, it is definitely going to be one sweet ride!!!!!
Hi guys,
I just wanted to share some pics of my 1935 Ford 5 window coupe.
I purchased the car on July 4th of last year and have been working constantly on the car. I hope to have it done within 2 or 3 months.
Heres what the car looked like when I bought it....

The previous owner dynoed 440rwhp and just under 500ft lbs of torque with the 142 blower and a 850 cfm holley. He ran 10's in a 69 Camaro.
We swapped the "hot" cam, 142 blower, and 850cfm Holley with a Predator 234/244 cam and a 4-71 blower (6% overdriven) with a Predator carb (The cam and carb are not made by the same company).
Was told by the woman that owns Predator carbs that the cam was a 40-50hp drop in.
Im hoping the engine will put out close to 600rwhp when we go to dyno it.
hard to belive that 750 carb. was enough carb. I tried that and it didn't work. the predator worked great though. looks good
I dunno Mike- look at those headers on the last pic., look's like they are burning real hot, maybe a little lean.....
Thanks. Sorry, 750 was a typo, it was 850. (I seem to have a problem with hitting the 7 key instead of 8)Quote:

After we changed the cam and blower, we had alot of flames shooting out of the exhaust (they are ceramic coated, btw) and the pipes were turning bright orange until we changed the pushrods and got the carb tuned correctly. The engine runs very good now, even better than it did before.Quote:

The first blower I had was about the same set up he has and evrybody told me a 750 would work, and after a bunch of holes in pistons and a lot of blown head gaskets I went to a bigger carb. and got rid of the problem. hate to say it , but I've been there done that. i did get by with the 750 for awhile, with 92 jets in the front and none in the rear, but I didn't have the motor he has and its was still lean, just not blowing head gaskets.Quote:

Gettin closer !!!!:) Almost all the pieces are together and they fit!!!!Still need to get to level ground and make the final panel and bed adjustments.
With the airbags all the way down on the bump stops in the back.
Side shot.I can get another approx 2 inches by trimming the bump stops and as u can see the front is yet to get the 2 1/2 inch drop spindles and possibly air bags or 2 inch drop coils, have not decided yet. :) The front will also recieve disk brakes and all the goodies that go with it,for now the back will keep the drums. Still not ready to fire the engine.I need and electric fan and also to install the fuel cell and pump.:)
I'm very impressed Shawn. Coming right along.
Looking good Shawn, some great progress!!!
Thanks ,I am trying.:) Just for those who do not know ,the underside of all that is like new.
Looks good, even if it is a chebbie!!!
Ok, come on and admit it!!!! Who else besides me uses one project for a storage shelf when working on another project???
from Dave
I never have, nor do I have more than one project.....!!! Or even a garage!!!:D I love the balancing shock too Dave!!:D I really do love the front end of the Ranchero Dave, very nice.Quote:

Sweet coupe Pieceofpaper, awesome start for sure. Should be one wild ride. Are you going to keep the Zoomies on or are you going with a street exhaust?
Great work Shawn, you really have come a long way. When is it motor time?
I took my car out to it's first cruise-in (this year) tonight, it was a blast. She ran well except for a little hesitation when taking off, but all in all she did real well for right out of the box. Now back to work on the interior.
Did the new radiator eliminate the cooling problem, Brick????

Dave: HA !!! You call THAT neat arrangement in your garage "using one project for a storage shelf." ???? I wish mine looked that organized.:) :) :) :) :)
My garage reminds me of the old joke: How do you spot a wealthy redneck???
He's got FOUR cars sitting up on blocks in his front yard.
Here is some of MY mess.
Don
And some more.................
  There ya go, Don. The bucket bodies stacked up look great!!! Used to have a sign above my desk that said if a cluttered desk is the sign of a cluttered mind, what is an empty desk the sign of?**)
That is a mess I would love to have to deal with Itoldyouso, I would keep one of those bodys in the house if I could get my hands on one, Very nice.
Ya Dave, I went on the first run with her today and she never got above 150' and it has a 160 thermostat! I hope that it's getting warm enough to seat the rings, they said she puffed a little out of the right bank once in a while. other than that the car purred like a kitten except for the front lug nuts being loose.
Try adjusting the accelerator pump on that Edlebrock, should help with the hesitation.
Thanks bud, it's not getting fuel soon enough then? Can I do that by moving the linkage rod out another hole, it's right in the center one now.
Yes, you're not geeting enough shot on initial acceleration causing the flat spot or bog. Was always one of my pet peeves concerning Carter/Eledbrock carbs. The idle can also be fine tuned using different size metering rods.
Man, more proof that my brain is moving towards the permanent malfunction mode!! Not only did I forget my password and have to get Brent and friends to send me a new one, I settled an old debt a friend owed me and would up with yet another project. It's a '78 (I think) Mark V with a 460, C-6, power seats, locks, and windows. Also has automatic headlight dimmer and a bunch of other gadgets. Best of all, it has a FACTORY ORIGINAL AM/FM 8 track that works. It's been setting outside for a number of years. Engine runs great, tranny is smoked. It's a huge old sled, but I've always wanted one, so........
And, managed to get the suspension put back under the '71. It was originally a 3/4 ton with a Dana rear, now it has 1/2 ton springs, a 9" with 3.25 gears, and KYB gas shocks mounted outboard. Should be able to get the back of the cab and front of the box painted and get the box set back on this week.
My friend Bill sold his '84 Chebbie pickup, bought this project, a big window '58(?). Got to do the frame and modernize the suspension with MII and a 9" rear. He has this plus another one for a parts truck if anybody is looking for some pieces for one of these old chebbies, let me know.
Dave, your the man me-amigo, is there anything ford that is outside your realm? The Mark V would be a rocket if built, what great engine! I love the Chebbie, very nice
Thanks Brick !! Never met a Blue Oval I didn't like !!!!!
I just can't leave anything alone, this is the gauge panel for my '71 pickup. The voltmeter and fuel gauge go in the console.
