That's a good idea Dave, it might even be worth checking with them to see if they do a stock style vent and if they'd punch the '35 sides with the '36 vents.

I was actually just looking at their site earlier today, but hadn't thought of using thier plain sides to add a vent or even having them punch the '36 style into '35 sides. I notice though that they don't have stock style options for '35 and '36. I don't hate the other options they have either. At one point I liked the scoop style side they have, but I might have outgrown that already. My stock hood is pretty banged up and I would like a 3 piece so getting theirs with plain sides to do with what I want might be the best idea. I could even cut the louvers out of my hood and fit them flush to mimic the '36. My trim should still work ok doing it that way also, but I like how the '36 trim extends past the louvers so I'd probably cut off a few louvers. This is all brainstorming for now anyway because the car will be run without a hood until it is painted.
You're right Bob I should give them a call. I just don't feel like paying a premium for a custom job if I could give it a go myself ;). I'll see what they could do for me though.
Thought I would share some shots of my dash as it developed.
Here are the latest. I liked the way this turned out so much that at one point I had thought about making a fiberglass mold and selling the dashes but decided it would delay things too much.
Thats slick............. And it's really nice to see an original dash. I think you have a winner there.
I'm trying to figure out how you have so much room to fit those buckets and console in there . I probably should have mounted my seats and inch or so further apart on either side because I think I'd be lucky to fit a console nearly half that wide, but I was worried about feeling too close to the door especially once I have door panels.
There are a few factors that enabled me to put that console in. 1st I searched for a long time to find the skinniest one I could and it is only around 4 or 5". wide. 2nd I found the skinniest seats I could, about 22". wide. 3rd since I moved my firewall back about 10" to fit the Hemi I also moved the seats back to the widest part of the car. And 4th I was able to move my steering column a little to the left to line up almost center with my seat.
Very nice job on the dash and inside! Lots of hard work went into that!
I just picked this up, 1952 Canadian Pontiac Chieftain (Yes they are the same body as a 52 Chevy). Believe it or not, this guy had to get rid of it because his buddy wanted it out of his garage. Rust on the rear wheel wells but rest is solid including the floors.

Made a little change to the '32 frame that will probably end up under the '30 coupe. The punched plates are compliments of Ionia Speed Shop.
Nice touch there Bob. those little details add up!
How many cars you got in the works Bob? Any more pics?
I agree Bob, nice touch.
Jack.
Well, the Plymouth is gone to the upholstery shop. Put the '57 in the garage (after digging it out of a snowbank) and I'm going to spend the weekend playing with it!!!!
Good to hear Dave. It'll be nice to see the old Chevy come back to life!
Had a fun day!!! Got that nasty looking front suspension off the '57 and started removing some of the other pieces from the front frame and firewall. Also got the glass and window regulators out of the driver's side of the car, did a bit of sanding to check out the condition of the sheet metal and spent way too much time drinking coffee and planning.......
Oh yeah, heat wave coming tomorrow!!! Forecast sez we might only be a couple degrees shy of freezing!!!!!
Gee,Dave,,not everyone can dig a 57 Chevy out of their snow bank...well done mate..It looks COOL..excuse the pun..
Things are starting to come together now but still have a long way to go. Dave I was trying to catch up to you but I think even on your slow coffee drinking days you are faster then me. Do you by any chance have any pics with the front end on the 36?
Right now the front end is all covered up and out of the way while I'm messing with my stuff... I'll get some pics next time it's out.
Your's is looking good! Can't do much now, the '36 is at the upholstery shop.
I just spent an hour rediscovering this thread. You guys sure have some neat projects, not to mention amazing talent and creativity.
Here are a few pics of the '32 Victoria I have been working on this winter, as well as a video I made of it today when we fired it up.....

Very nice Vicki Joe. And I love the Instruments. Nice touch.
Great looking car, Joe! The Plymouth looks great, Dave, and I'll bet you're glad to be on your 57! I haven't seen a good gasser build for a while.
That is a good start Joe. I hope you have a warm place to work on it.
looks like a great project. what do you plan on doing to it?
Nice car. At first I looked where you live and thought it said Ontario California, not Canada. I thought dang it snowed down there!:D
I guess you call these Zed 28's instead of our Zee 28 way of speaking?
Thanks guys, I dont really have a spot to put it right now (i will soon) but for $600 i couldn't resist lol, it's a 4spd car, 1980 t-top Z28 (zed 28 lol), 411 posi.
