Yeah, and it beats the heck out of doing the couch potato thing every day!!!!!
I laid out this weekend in the "Really Nice" 40' weather and got everything hooked up underneath except the driveline. I traded for one yesterday so with a set of universals the El Camino will be ready to get down off the stands. I want to start up her new heart and BOOM the temp dropped like a rock today. 26' w/35mph wind and snow tomorrow! It will be fun putting it together but hey thats hotrodding Ozark style, no palm trees here. How warm is your shop Dave, got any room??HaHaHa!!
Sure, bring it up!!! Shop was it's usual 67 degrees today and there's always room for one more....Heck, you can even help finish up Tom's coupe!!! Friend of mine stopped by today for coffee and asked me why I hadn't scooped the snow from in front of the shop door-----told him I didn't put it there!!!!!!!   :LOL:Quote:

Say Brick, so far we've just got a dusting and you can keep all of the fluffy stuff if you don't mind.
I'm in downtown St Louis now; about 2" so far and coming down strong.
Just taking a break and had to put a picture up for Tom.... He has very patiently been waiting to see any kind of progress on his coupe..... Here ya go Tom, the driver's side was the worst so I started there. Banged, dinged, and pinged all the dents, blasted, ground, sanded and treated the rust, brushed on some Por 15 where it was needed and finally got some primer on the coupe!!!! Now I gotta go have coffee with the guys!!!!!
Still coming down here and the second wave is coming I guess. Dave, that is some really nice hammer work old dawg! You have a nice touch for sure, whats next on the body?
I just flipped over that "T". Or was it the "T" that flipped.
Lookin' good Dave.
Guess I'm just too dang old to sit on the floor and work on the bottom of a car anymore Pro!!!! Sure is a lot easier this way.... Think the 'maro is going to wind up on the rotisserie though, it's a bit heavy for two guys to flip on it's top, and kinda tough on the sheet metal, too!!!!!   :LOL:Quote:

I'm really impressed!!!!!! Thanks you Sooooooooooooo much for the pictures.
It really looks cool in that gray primer. Did I tell you that I'm thinking of painting it the stock color of Gray with Black fenders?
My plans for the rest of it: white lake headers, maybe a white roof, wheels the same GM blue color as the engine, baby moons, chrome radiator shell, chrome bumpers, and no hood sides. Betcha didn't think a little Gray Primer could turn a guy on so much did ya?
The attached picture kinda shows what what I'm referring to.
Today it must have been 80 degrees and sunny here but I had to be inside and work. Installed eight smoke alarms (three had to be wired in), a door bell, hung two fire extenguishes, rebuilt two folding doors, cut and installed a light defuser, cleaned out a dryer vent hose, installed a piece of oak trim on a floor by drilling three inches into cement so the dang thing won't come loose again, and went to Lowe's for supplies. No time for sun tanning YET.
Starting this saturday things are going to change though...... starting with the Ground Hog day car show, I'm going to take off four day weekends until I come home.
Keep up the good work But mainly keep yourself in good health.
Tom
Glad you like it Tom.... Thought maybe you were just excited cuz I actually got something done!!!!!! Should go better now, the driver's side was the worst. Now if you could just send some of that 80 degree weather this way!!!!!!
Better hold on Dave, I think our fluffy stuff is coming your way. We've got a couple of inches on the ground and its still coming down.
BTW, Ol' Henry would be proud of that body.
Thanks for the warning!!!! Only 15 steps from the back door of the house to the shop!!!! Even a crippled old geezer like me can make it most days!!!!!!    Tom has already been more then patient with me so I better stay after it!!! Sure is fun working on this vintage tin though! Once the grinding and rust treatment is done, there is still some very nice steel under there! Tom is going to have a neat one, rumor has it that it will be a V-6 Turbo car!!!!Quote:

50 would be great!!!! The weatherguesser dude is predicting mid 20's tomorrow.... Gonna be like a heat wave!
Where'd that rumor come from does this look like a V-6 Turbo?Quote:

Dropped the trans. in the chassis today. Unfortunately the drain plugs hit the cross member, so I put the mock-up pan on it for now 'til I can relocated the drain bungs to the sides.
Looks good sitting in there Z, always good to get some of the major stuff set in place! For me it's motivation to attack the small projects on the car that I've been putting off!!!!!!
Sunny and in the 80s, went to the Ground Hog Day Car Show here in Orlando, what more could a guy ask for? All kinds of neat cars/trucks/bikes, a good band and even got to watch a Stripper.  :LOL:Quote:

Wouldn't I love to be there, that looks like a whole lotta fun to me. How nice it looks out, no snow or cold, very nice.
[QUOTE=Dave Severson]Got the coupe turned around and starting on the bottom of the passenger side....
Ya got me a little confused, doesn't this picture show the passenger side in primer or is being up-side-down make it the other side???
Well, you know I can't think right side up let alone upside down....But anyway, now I'm doing the other side!!!!!
The left side.
Guess it depends on your point of view, could be the left, or maybe the other left!!!   :LOL:Quote:

I guess it could be the right, or the other right, or one of the aforementioned lefts.....More or less.
I hope Denny turns that thing over again so I can work on it tomorrow, to heavy to flip by myself!!!!!
To eliminate any more confusion as to left, right, passenger or driver's side, I was referring to the passenger side of the garage..... Hopefully this will clarify everything.:whacked: :whacked: :whacked:
At one time I thought about making suicide doors on the coupe to make it easier for me to get in and out, soooooooooooooooo the passenger door would be on the drivers side and visa versa.Quote:

I destroyer my puller and a rental from Auto Zone trying to get them off. Also got the heater in and the controls from the 50 Dodge that I bought for parts installed. This is a really cool looking little heater control! The picture didnt come out to well but here it is anyway.
Neat little heater panel Falcon!!! How the heck could we survive without parts cars, huh????? The dash is really looking nice!
Thanks, Dave. Wish I lived closer to you, that's some great looking bodywork on Tom's coupe! Parts cars are definately a plus, you just never know what you'll be able to use. I'm ending up with so many different years and brands in this truck, it's starting to sound like Johnny Cash's psycobilly Caddillac!
