That's a great body style, Bobby. You sure you want to sell it? It'll look awesome when it's finished.

Sounds like you have lucked out tho a $25 shift kit might just tighten up an original ho-hum shifting tranny tho wont cure any problems. Just don't forget to dump the old fluid in the converter - a common 'gotcha'.
Go for it:)
falcon a newer purchase has needed financing along with the A so cpe will have to go. I also need the garage space since i only have a 2 car . I dont want third car sitting out getting older then it is from the weather . I also see you truck has made some good headway .
Ireland convertor is empty and i allmost put a synthetic in it till i read your post . I will wash it with a quart for extra clean out and refill . But i have to get the F or FA you wrote on.
Nothing easy about parting with toys, not an easy thing for any man!
I hear you, I spent two years building my 70 Monte Carlo SS and caught a lot of flack from family and friends when I decided to sell it to build a fat fendered rod. I told everyone if they wanted to donate 10 grand to my car building fund, I'd keep the Monte but I had no takers. You should get some decent $$ for your Stang, it looks great so far.
Thanks for the truck comment, it's been pretty fun so far. I should have just put it on this thread instead of starting another one. I may just move my progress reports over here if there are no objections.
Falcon i'll be watching it where ever you put it . Very interresting build and I can't wait to see outcome .
Yep selling off a long time project is going to be rough . Selling off Cpe will get all the new sheetmetal for FB and help in the going on the A . Man the rads are expensive and can never catch a good deal on ebay even when some one is selling there new mock up .
Thanks, Bobby. Here's a few shots of my old Monte I dug up. 454, 4-speed; it was a pretty fun ride.
Neat old Monte, Falcon!!! Bet ya wish you would have kept it, huh?
holy smokes dave diggin on a chebbie :D good lookin ride falcon..
I drove it for about two years after I finished it. I had my fun with it and got a good price for it when I sold it, so no regrets with moving on to the next project.
Ya, it's different when they go because you want to do something else, it's sad when they have to go when you don't want them too. There has to be some way to finance this hobby, just think of it as you really made another rodder really happy too by selling it!
I haven't had time to do anything to my cars but I hope I can start soon. I have alot to do this winter, maybe a new engine for my '48 too.
I hear you, time is always at a premium. October is bad for me because I have one kid playing football and one playing volleyball. Plus our band is always really busy in October; lots of churches getting their last picnics and fall festivals out of the way. We'd played every weekend for the last month and we usually don't do that much. Thankfully the sports seasons are over and we're slowing down a little.
What kind of new engine are you thinking of? How about something off the wall like an old Buick straight 8?
That would be wild but no I will probly go with a 383 stroker this time.
Well, if any of you guys get bored this winter let me know!!!! I have enough projects to keep a few guys busy!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now, the trick is to find time to get something done on my own stuff!!!!
Well I'm just about done with the shop renovation, the steel has been purchased the drawings are done and should be starting the build on the Cobra by the middle of the month, and right beside it will be the 49 F-3 I'm building for the wife, so my winter should be fun. Carl
Falcon a 454 4spd Monte is very rare less then 500 made if i remember also only made in 1970 or was it 1971. Did get to ride in one a couple years ago . The guy traded the body and kept the engine .
Even if it is a chebbie, this should make a very nice cruiser. 327 cubes, converted to EFI with computer tweaked for this specific engine and cam going into a '57 wagon with a 3 speed overdrive!!!! The old and the new should combine to make for a sweet ride!!!! Customer wants to drive it for a year or so, then bring it back for a frame off rebuild and some 50's style Hot Rodding!!!!!
That is a very sweet combo Dave, should move the ol' wagon very nicely huh? Lets see, how far are you? I can work on wednesday nights till about ten.
I wish that Monte was 1 of 500; i'd would have probably been able to retire from it. It was originally a non-SS; 402/auto but I changed it over. That 327 with the EFI looks pretty sweet. That should make a great street combo.
I was sick as a dog this weekend but I did get out and finish making the floor pans. Now I just need to replace the other cab corner, sand it down good and I can get some primer on the cab. No more work today, though. I feel like crap.
Looks good! Yeah, go ahead and take the rest of the day off!!!!
Thanks, Dave. Wish I'd have taken your advice. I went out there to cut one more piece of sheet metal after i took some cold pills and sliced the crap out of my thumb! Now i really am done for the day!
Yup, now ya got the day off and a sore hand for the next week!!!!   I'm gonna kick back the rest of the day myself!!!!Quote:

And the really good news is, should be able to finish up the first batch of John Deere parts this week and get back to some real work!!!! Bill and I did spend a couple hours on the Mustang today laying out some frame rails and body mounts....
PS---You guys ever seen a John Deere 4020 Show Tractor??? Me neither!!!! A month ago I'd never heard of one, now we're doing all the sheet metal and paint work on one.... Oh well, it pays the bills!!!!!
hey dave thats big biz down here in ms. them farmers spend some seriuos cash on them tractors , make the owner of a new combine look like a welfare recipient:D
i agree dave , but theres always room for hope..:rolleyes:Quote:

Sometimes taking a half day off is worth it, just scored an Enderle front cover on eBay for $25.00!!!!!
Well, I don't usually post in this thread, but since a few of you have shown interest in this car I thought I'd post up a few pics showing what went down today. As most of you experienced folk know there're a lot of little things that lead up to this moment, and of course there's still much more to do, but it is one of those milestone moments. So, here's how a Dodge sedan swallows a Hemi.
Looks great Uncle Bob!!!! When is the car going to be up and running, got a guess date on completion yet???? The whole project looks absolutely fantastic, very well done!!!!!!!!
the car is looking great uncle bob:D
Very, Very Cool Uncle Bob.    Looks great.
That is a thing of beauty, Uncle Bob. Keep posting pix, I'd love to see the finished product.
I usually just quitely post in my gallery what is done on the projects, but on this one someone quite a while back was interested in how a hemi was loaded in a "B" body so thought it would serve to put it here.Quote:

This is the project I have been helping on, a 440 in a duster is a little bit of a shoe horn job I found out. Got to love them Mopars!!
Bob alot of iron in the bay . That will be a eye squinter to drive at full throttle. I look at the galleries every now and then to see if there has been updats on builds.
Thanks for the kind words Tony. No, this one is a 65 Coronet, two door sedan being done to resemble an A990 drag car. I also like the 440. If you look in my gallery you'll see the '64 Savoy sedan I used to own that had a built 440 in it, ironically the same color as this one. Also, they both started life as slant six/auto cars.Quote:
