Great looking scooter, Mike. Beats the heck out of not going anywhere!!!! Maybe you could get a custom rewind on that electric motor, some nice wheels, pinstriping, and.......... never seen anything with wheels that I don't want to hot rod !!!!!!!
Mike
A friend of mine has one like that only blue. He also has an S10 to haul it around in so he can go to church or malls. We put a small crane in the bed of the s10 to get it in and out.
guess i 'll have to put a blower on it. the only problem with the crane is if i could crank it up i wouldn't need the scooter. no breath = no crank. I got a drive on ramp that goes in the trailer receiver. haven't used it yet. if it works on my jeep then i'm gonna have to put a hitch receiver on the back of the S10:rolleyes: a scooter ramp on the back of a hot rod. i bet that would be a first.
Yea he has the same problem the VA paid for a power crane all he has to do is hook it up and push the buttons. Hes a little slow getting from the rear of the truck to the cab but he makes it. I told him we could put a hand rail on the truck for him but I think he still a little to proud. Makes me thankful I still have my health and can still help others.
Charlie
its great that you are willing to help. i'd rather be the one doing, not the one receiving. :(Quote:

I believe in fate. You weren't supposed to get rid of the car. Same has happened to me, and I'm glad I ended up keeping the car.
Enjoy.:) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

Guess my pic of the "new kid" and his first rear wheel drive roundy round racer bit the dust in the last great puter glitch, so here it is again.
Went to our local track Sat. Night, Greg did what we asked him to do, got a 5th in his heat and a 4th in the feature. Managed to pass about 7 cars for the two races, not bad for the first time out for the car and driver!!
Friday night we are going to try him out on a lot flatter 3/8 mile track. If he's going to be running a mod next year he's gonna be on a very steep learning curve, should be able to run him 3 nights a week for the rest of the summer barring any major problems...... Gonna be a good racer someday, drives his line, moves around on the track to check out the grooves, and listens to instructions!!!!
listens to instructions????? you sure?
Yup, sure does!!! Amazing, isn't it Mike? Not only that, after the feature he even knew what his oil pressure and water temperature had been running!!! Theres a reacall Tach on the car so there's not even an opportunity to fib about the RPM!!!!
thats great, after my first race i couldn't have told you if the car had gauges or not. i thought i was flying and i was getting lapped every 10 laps. i won a race the first yr. though. **) :cool:Quote:

We went racing on a long 3/8 flat track last night, Greg got a 4th in his heat and 7th in the feature!! But the really GREAT news is that we again brough the car home with no dents, dings, scrapes, cuts, or gouges!!! I sure am glad he isn't starting his driving career in the same fashion his mentor did!!!!!
Back to our home track last night, Greg did a fifth in the heat and another 4th place finish in the feature!!! Finally got the frist dent in the car though, pushed it out with the handle of a hammer, but he did manage to tear a little chunk of the vinyl on the numbers!!! Going to be a good driver, we're allready making plans for next year. Sponsors wanted, send cash!!!!!
PS. The temp both nights at race time was still right at 100 degrees!!! Sure was good to have the sun go down and finally cool off a bit. Hiding in the den today and enjoying the AC. Maybe this global warming stuff is true, never this hot here til mid August!!!!!!
sounds like his doing ok. no cash!!!:eek:Quote:

Brick, it was 100* here in Springfield and 96* out on the floor in the building I work in. :( :(
I here ya Brickman. I've got 10 bolts to fasten to have my truck back on the road (again) and since I am working outside, it's to darned hot for me.
I definately picked the wrong week to tear mine down. Putty in fresh bearings, oil pump & new cam/lifters. Plan to install the 144 blower this weekend. I made so many mistakes this past weekend and useing the heat for an excuse. A buddy stopped by to check my progress and offered to help me find a used window unit for the garage. I planned on some sweat on this project but not all at once. Will post some pics when completed (hopefully this weekend), would be working onit now if I wasn't on the road. Glad work provides laptop or I'd go batty in hotels.
Amen NTFDay, this week has been cruel so far, 2 more days to go. We had a big club meet last weekend and cruised 27 cars together to a fun little cruise-in. It was a blast, been drawing a little, what ya think about 2 tone? (Exquise the bad art work) I can't get the color blue but NTFDay has seen the dark blue, mopar "Intense Blue Pearl coat"
Brickman, I think that will be a nice combination and the Cragars really give the car the right attitude.
TOOO Blu,..?
Thats very cool, my wifes choice would be all one color. I am leaning toward 2 tone just for something different. I think IMHO that the body is too high sided to have just one color, I think it needs to be broken up to make the car not look so tall.
Brick, there was one in I think Street Rodder a couple years back that was done in the old Cream and Red combination, broke the car up very nice. Also have seen them done in the old tu tone blues like the tri-five chebbies and come out very nice.
Well, we've had my new driver racing 5 times on 4 different tracks in the last 8 days. We've driven the car on the trailer every night, meaning he didn't break it. His worst feature finish was 7th, best was 3rd... Very pleased with his performance so far.... Started ordering up tubing and suspension pieces for a new car, moving up a couple classes (to IMCA Stock Car)car next year. We'll also be running an IMCA B-Mod which Greg's older brother will drive. Hopefully in a couple of years, Greg will be running a mod and Jim will be in one of the Late Models. For a guy all done with racing years ago, I sure am having a blast!!!!!!
THe fuel pump I got last monday has 1/4 NPT ports and I need 3/8 NPT..
I asked specifically what size they were before I bought it & was told 3/8.
They said they would issue a refund, if they hassle me I'll reveal them.
The bumper brackets that came from Canada finally arrived this Am with only 1 front bracket in the package when I needed both of them....
I checked the pic of what I bid on & sure enough I got a pair of rear brackets,2 outers & 1 center..so thats on me....
I removed the old air shox on Saturday, got the car on the ground & determined that the leaf springs are shot.
The only good to come out of all this is that I located a guy who has a
'66 Fairlane he's parting out & his springs are like new
+ he has other parts as well so THIS delay will only be another week or so & besides
the car HAS been sitting for 20 years.

I think you have the fuel pump you need, but don't realize it. The standard of the industry is 1/4 inch NPT outlets. From that you can put a 1/4 npt to 3/8 inch fuel hose barb that you use to run standard 3/8 fuel line. 3/8 npt is huge, (it would be a 3/8 water pipe size)
I could be misinterpreting what you are saying, but I think you are confusing NPT with ID of the hose that comes off of it. We use the exact setup you have in every installation we do on cars and boats.
Don
he might be talking elec. pump, DON the red and blue holley is 3/8 NPT, the stock pumps are 1/8 and 1/4 NPT. i could be wrong. **)
Holley red pump
Max pressure performance pump for gas only,
pressure preset at 14 PSI,
Free flow capacity 110 GPH,
Flows 70 GPH while maintaining 9 PSI,
Regulator 427-12803 supplied,
3/8" NPT
You are right Mike. I stand corrected. Should be 3/8 NPT.:o :o :o :o
Don
anybody missing a link can be wrong some time.   :LOL:Quote:
