:lol::lol::lol:
:LOL: Nothing like draggin out the old posts....yes, Mike, Sanderson replaced that one header with the bad hole in it. The coating is good on both of them. If I had it to do over I might have considered the Mustang GT headers because they are swept back more toward the rear of the car and it might have been easier to route the exhaust system. They probably would have interfered with my steering linkage though. The Sanderson blockhuggers are going to require a pretty sharp bend on the collector to point the exhausts in the right direction. I haven't started on exhaust pipes yet but I've been thinking about how I need to do it for a long time.....;)
Mike & Randy - This is almost ancient history and was possibly carved on stone tablets:LOL:
Easy match up. Just lots of cuttin' 'n' trimmin' on the Sanderson supplied pieces:

Might want to consider doing the exhaust while you have the body raised for new mounts
(DAMMIT _ I HATE it when the photos don't show!!!!!!:CRY:)
Yeah, Dave, that's why I haven't lifted the body yet. I want to try to do the exhaust at the same time. Mine won't be quite a simple as yours because my frame has that center X-member to contend with and routing around the master cylinder & clutch pedal will present a few challenges I'm sure.:HMMM:Quote:

Of course, I'll post pics of the trials & tribulations when the time comes....;)
Randy- I know how you like pictures ;). I'll take a couple of my exhaust this weekend for you to refer to. I didn't do it because the exhaust shop was cheap enough to convince me to trailer it in, but they did a good job. Unfortunately in the end they decided to run the pipes below the X member but it's tucked up nice and close. You're right though...the steering linkage, MC and exhaust all want to take up some of the same space.
for you over here put color on the Stang floors Monday

I`ll end up with sanderson`s CC11, Ii`m almost sure they will fit, then drop down thru the frame cross member holes with 2.5 tube to flowmaster 40`s.
If you really want to go w-a-a-y-y back on this thread, I discuss why I was happy that I bought my Sanderson's uncoated. It cost me several hours to clean up their internal mistakes - welding and actual fit at both ends. Then they went to Jet-Hot. Unfortunately I don't have any photos.
I remember your thread Dave, why I `m not sure, maybe because I thought better of them, and maybe they are just getting to busy for quality control, but I am seriously considering buying them raw and cleaning them up and send them to Jet hot.
I like the shape of these headers .
Well today was last day of the 5 days off . Spent most prepping the door jambs and cowl areas .
I also put on some chip guard like the older cars had from the factory . It will be colored like the car so will be barely seen . The rocker mlds will hide most of it also .

Bobby - every time I see what you are having to do to that 'stang it makes me very happy that I passed on that '67/8 'vert about 10-12 years ago.
You're doing a great job:cool:
Dave I did all the panels because they are very cheap . I could also get a good look at the insides and protect them more . Usually this cowls are in bad shape this is a southern car and they are clean .
This car could have used just the patches but I can do a full panel in the same amount of time . I am putting it together to last another 50 years or so .
But NEVER NEVER pass on a vert for good money LOL . Now you have to watch verts with all the extra bracing that is installed at the factory to support the car , but then again really cheap to restore when you can do the work .
yeah, like Dave said, you're doing a great job on this Stang, Bobby! I had a 66 coupe a long time ago. I bought it as a fixer upper. It turned out ok but it would turn out much better if I did it today. I've learned a lot since then...:) but I still have lots to learn!
I'm making some progress on my truck. I've swapped out the bent I-beam, got the rim repaired, put new front tires on and got it aligned. It's driving great. I'm going to get some estimates for the body work tomorrow. I've located another short bed truck so I might just work a deal to swap beds with the guy. His is mostly a parts truck anyway. I'll find out about that on Wednesday. If I could just eek out some decent gas mileage from that guzzlin 352FE I'd be much happier!:CRY: I do believe in miracles but that's one that's probably not going to happen!;)
The 37 waits patiently for attention.....:HMMM:
Randy as the truck being the daily it takes all priority . 65 parts are even cheaper then the 67 so a lot easier to do .
My 37 is getting small attention but its moving . If it was waiting on me it would still be tarped up .:(
Randy, good news on the D.D., not so good news on the 37..:( Time management is a cross we all must bear..:LOL:
Bobby, the mustang looks very nice! After doing my 67 fastback over and over again, at least five times.., I finally got the bug one day and sold the mustang and bought the chassis for the 34. Haven't looked back since!:D
Like the Mustang, I'm already planning a re-incarnation for the 34. I just can't help myself!
Mike I have had it so long did get bored with it some , whats caused me to get the older one's . But I would finally like a clean fastback again since I drove one in 74 when I was 18 paid $500 for it then . SO even the 31 will go soon after completion to get one great fastback . Then maybe another old tin to do .
Well have been wet sanding the stang for a few days have the main body done and one fender . :( Geez did I forget what work this was . Wife got me in a pic most likely the only one of me working LOL :3dSMILE:

Good work, Bobby! At least somebody is making some progress! I've been gathering up parts to fix my truck. It's back on the road but the body work isn't done yet. I'm getting estimates on that. Will make some decisions soon. In the meantime, I'll just drive it....:)
Drive it , its not that bad at all . The 37 is making some headway too . That's because it's not me working on it :) . Since my extra garage didn't make it up this year ( another story ) I have to get this done and sold before the 37 comes home . The 37 won't be sitting out side any more with the body having fresh metal work . I bartered the drive line and suspension to get it finished .

I am physco I have 3 the 31 in my avatar is midstream also . You can see the nose of the 37 in the back ground .
No just a bad dept  wife thinks I am crazy already .
Hey Dave, Mike, Bobby, Robert, Rich and all the rest or you guys who follow or have contributed to this thread.............thanks for all the support, advice, kudos and encouragement over the last year! When the car finally gets finished it will be because all of you have helped in one way or another. For that I'm grateful!:D
Happy Thanksgiving!!!!:):)
Randy
Randy and all Happy Thanksgiving !!
Well here is latest I am trying to get wife is against me totally and may not win . Its so cheap though that she don't realize the end result :D.
Randy here is some more support for you to start the tinkering again on the 37 . I have someone doing all the set up and sheet metal I will finish it . He has began with the TCI rear parallel leafs and the MII front end . he will also set the engine and trans in and build the fire wall . If it wasn't for him it would still be tarped up .
Oh this is a 255-75-15 on a rim with a 3 3/4 Off set , I have a set that is 4 1/2 Off set which I think will bring the big tires in and end up with no fender edge rub . If not I will have to get to the drawing board . Also don't know yet how they will fill the well and settling on the springs ???? Help right now I think he said they set about 3 or 2 3/4 inches from where the body will be back on frame . Once I put the disc's on this rear ( 59 1/4 mount to mount ) will add about 1/2 inch per side .
Bobby I ran a tape from the frame rail out to the front edge of the tire, I`m at 12.5 inches, and I know we have differant offsets, and rear axle width, just trying to give you an idea.
Rich Thank you gives me a better Idea of what I have to work with .
Randy was going to do that but had to let her know LOL . Was going to hide it at the guy's house who is doing the 37 . Mustang is 400 wet sanded just need to make the room to shoot now . Have to wrap the 31 out side for a week end.
It's looking good, Bobby!!! I'm jealous! :)
What's the width of your rear end? width of the rims? Mine has a 58 Ford rear which is 57.25 between the wheel mounting surfaces. I currently have 17x8 rims, 3.75" back spacing with 255/55/17 tires. I could still space them out at least 3/4 inch and still not rub the fenders. Not sure that I'll keep those wheels but may that'll help some.
Rich, your car looks so sweet in that pic!!! Love it!
My misses said that I`m not saving anymore whales:CRY:
