Sorry for your misfortune, your gas door turning out nice, not sure if I want to do mine, I`ve had it in and out of my mind for several years, I still like the stock cap.

Thanks, Rich! When it came right down to it I debated whether I wanted to cut the fender or not but then I remember how these modern high-speed gas pumps would always belch gas all over my fender even at a slower speed....so I went with it. My door handles are shaved too so it'll be part of that smoother look I guess.:)
DANG! That just sucks! I'll bet he walked away from it too! I don't know if changing colors will help! If his eyes weren't open at the time.... :( Did you , or, do you have another daily driver? Yeah, they'll total it and give you or offer you 5 Benjamins for it! :(:( Keep us posted.
Randy - now THAT is bad news about your DD pick up:CRY:!!
BUT look at the bright side, you can spend more time working on the '37 and we wont have to keep reminding you that we need progress reports
He did walk away sorta but he had a couple of cuts on his head which turned into a concussion the next day. Turns out he's somebody I've seen at my gym occasionally. He's feels pretty crappy about it all, as he should, but I'm glad there were no serious injuries.
As for my truck, I declined their desire to tow it away to their (potentially totalled) lot. They're sending an adjuster here to look at it in the morning. Here's a link to the pics if you wanna check it out http://s1027.photobucket.com/albums/.../F100%20crash/
I'm on a couple of Ford truck forums too so sourcing parts & values shouldn't be too hard. But I'm going to leave the responsibility of fixing it up to them. I didn't crash it. I shouldn't have to fix it.
This morning I put the spare tire on so I could move it. When I got it on level ground it didn't look as bad. It would probably be cheaper to find a good used bed than to repair that quarter panel. It needs new bumpers for sure (I've been wanting a smaller chrome one on the back anyway even though that big honking bumper probably prevented more extensive damage. I think the left front axle is bent a little too since that tire is about an inch more forward in the wheel well than the other side. There are scrapes on the front fender & door. New/used fenders are pretty cheap too.
This is my only driver (the 37 isn't quite ready yet....duh! LOL!) so the repairs would need to happen fairly quickly. They've given me a rental car until things are resolved. It's a huge PITA any way you look at it though!!
Regarding the color change, I was just kidding around about some possible "white Ford karma" that's causing these little silver Jap cars to run into me. Interestingly enough, my rental car is a silver Korean suv! Look out!!:LOL:
I think you mean to say, "WAS" your daily driver.. at least until they make a plan to fix it! After seeing the pics it does look alot better than I first imagined! But we all know pics don't tell the whole story!
All I can offer is - breathe in, breathe out... the sun is warm and the grass is green... heavy sigh...
Randy - if you only lived a bit closer I would let you borrow my Black Hawk Porta-Power. Those little dings only need a bit of a push or pull to make it again a daily driver (yeah, sure they do:eek::CRY:)
I absolutely would not let the insurance company total that neat truck. While it's a fairly easy fix up in comparison to some, a salvage title becomes a real problem when it come time to sell regardless of the age or as sold condition (at least here on the Right Coast/NY State). I would "force" the ins. co. to ante up as many Bens as possible, then make it drivable until it can be totally redone. Possibly you can work a deal with the owner of the car to cough up a few more bucks:3dSMILE:
Good luck
Randy good thing you wasn't in it , back trouble then . Looks like the rear bumper saved it from a lot worse .
Yeah, Bobby, I'm definitely glad I wasn't in it!!! It's funny, I've hated that back bumper since I bought the truck but it came in handy this time.:D
I'm haggling with the insurance co. over what is going to be done about it. I took the bumpers off today to get a better look. The frame is not bent but the left I-beam is. It would be easy to straighten or just get another one at the salvage yard. The rear quarter is the most challenging part but I've found an end cap so the rest just be pulling the panel out and attaching the new part. New bumpers are repop and easy to get.
I've given them the terms the I feel would be best for all concerned but I haven't heard back from them yet. We'll see what happens.....:HMMM:
Well some of that is good news! I hope they don't try and haggle it to death... It sure is a pretty truck and it would be a shame if it don't get fixed!
Randy - tell us what's going on with F100 insurance "negotiations":):p.
 They still think they want to total it. :(The totaled dept. is supposed to contact me today to discuss it. I've assembled all my receipts and located the necessary parts to fix it. I will consider their offer (when they make one) and see how much I want to fight.:HMMM: If their offer is good enough, it might make sense to take it, buy the truck back for a minimal salvage value then sell it and buy another one. I don't know that it makes much sense to invest a lot of money in a vehicle with the "salvage title" curse on it unless I plan to keep it forever. I love this truck but I'm trying not to get too emotionally involved since I've only had it 1.5 yrs. Now if it was my 37, we'd have a serious battle on our hands!!!!
Thanks for asking Dave. Will let you know what happens.
Well then keep the gloves on then as ins companies want out of a jam as cheap and quick as possible. That salvage title will harm any future resale even if you fix it to 100%
This doesn't seem to be the case with this company. Seems like they are looking for a fight and it such a small amount of money! They have offered me less than half of what I have invested in the truck and they are cutting off my rental car on Monday.:mad:I presented them with very reasonable terms that would have been an easy out for them. Will probably be contacting an attorney today. Looks like I'll be replacing the left I-beam and driving it as is until this gets resolved. Bastards!!!
A horses head in the agents bed might also give him inspiration to settle the "right" way:whacked::LOL::LOL:
( I had to do Post 900 on this thread just for posterity's sake)
Thats just bad news when you`re trying to finish your `37.....
Man this sounds bad make the call quick . That would be your only help , they will break you if you don't get a lawyer to give them a call !!! The truck is to clean to be totaled out for that slight damage .
Hey Bobby, I sent an email with more history of the truck, receipts & comparisons. They decided to send the info out for a second evaluation of the value. I should hear something Monday so I'll know whether I'll need the attorney or not.
Any new news on your 37?
Randy that's some better news anyway .
If these pics help here is the poor 37 at the sheet metal house waiting its turn still . May bring some help to your plight . :)

Bobby, memories of pics I can`t get to anymore...!!
I have to drive 2 hours for mine  LOL . Hoping to see some change soon .
Anyway on a good note got a great deal on a EZ wiring 21 circuit kit on flee bay . They had them started at $135 and no one bid on it but me . They have a few up all the time saved a few bucks .

Rich did you 37 look like these pics .

Ok been working on the Mustang a while and its time to refit all the bolt on stuff . 10 years ago I purchased a after market rear valance that fits like S$#T . When I put on the 1/4's I used a Nordian bumper to fit them and square to it .
I was lucking to have horded a couple old rear valances and pulled them out , I used the one with minor damage , easy fix and its fits 100% better . I got lucky and am really glad I didn't pitch these . Don't know yet where I have the one that came off yet though .
You will see the original front one laying there . I cut out a piece thinking I would replace but glad I kept it . I will patch it and re install .

Mine was close, work in progress as I drove it, I`ve got a hold of an ( expert putor person) he said he could get the pics out if its at all poss. we`ll see what happens in the next week or so.:HMMM:
One time I did a puter recovery and lost the pics . I was fumbling through things and wam I found them . Well needless to say it has only happened once for me :( .
Rich - If you didn't have a complete 'puter crash and total out the hard drive, they are there. You probably weren't looking where you saved them - my wife does that regularly which usually costs me about an hour to find. Amazing where they end up - and on any one of three hard drives or 5-6 flash drives:CRY:.
Now, even with a totaled hard drive, for $$$$(many) there are companies that will do a recovery of files - it just depends on how bad you want those files:LOL::LOL:.
Hey Fellas,
Good news on my truck.....the insurance co. did a second evaluation and decided it was definitely worth repairing, thus no "salvage" title! :D:D
They are preparing to cut me a check so I can get on with the repairs. I picked up the left side i-beam/spindle at the salvage yard today. Will swap it out tomorrow so I can be mobile again while gathering parts and getting bids on paint work. Persistance has paid off! Yay!!!
Some great news Randy no way that truck should have gotten totaled .
Well welded in the system off the 65 Mustang (flowmaster) today not much to retro fit it . I still need to raise the exit pipes and lengthen them about 3 to 4 inches . Something making headway

Amazing how insurance companies can reevaluate a settlement when pushed. Congratulations, Randy. Of course we want photos of the in-progress repairs:eek:
Thanks, Dave. Everything I presented to them was very reasonable. They would have been stupid not to make it happen. It would have cost them a lot more money to fight it.
I swapped out the bent I-beam today and dropped off the bent rim to be repaired. As soon as I get the check I'll start shopping for body shops. I have a couple of local friends who have some good recommendations. I'm hoping to do enough of the repairs myself so maybe there will be enough money left to get a nice driver paint job on the whole thing. Will keep you posted on how that works out......:)
You guys have the Maaco paint shops out there . Take it to them prepped and sanded and you will get better then a driver paint .
Thats good news Randy, thumbs up for your persistence.
Well guys longest it has been out of the garage . I put the old GT wheels I bought on with the original bias plys . FUN VERY FUN :3dSMILE: oh turn it up
