Nothing like draggin out the old posts....yes, Mike, Sanderson replaced that one header with the bad hole in it. The coating is good on both of them. If I had it to do over I might have considered the Mustang GT headers because they are swept back more toward the rear of the car and it might have been easier to route the exhaust system. They probably would have interfered with my steering linkage though. The Sanderson blockhuggers are going to require a pretty sharp bend on the collector to point the exhausts in the right direction. I haven't started on exhaust pipes yet but I've been thinking about how I need to do it for a long time.....

Mike & Randy - This is almost ancient history and was possibly carved on stone tablets
Easy match up. Just lots of cuttin' 'n' trimmin' on the Sanderson supplied pieces:

Might want to consider doing the exhaust while you have the body raised for new mounts

Yeah, Dave, that's why I haven't lifted the body yet. I want to try to do the exhaust at the same time. Mine won't be quite a simple as yours because my frame has that center X-member to contend with and routing around the master cylinder & clutch pedal will present a few challenges I'm sure.

Of course, I'll post pics of the trials & tribulations when the time comes....

If you really want to go w-a-a-y-y back on this thread, I discuss why I was happy that I bought my Sanderson's uncoated. It cost me several hours to clean up their internal mistakes - welding and actual fit at both ends. Then they went to Jet-Hot. Unfortunately I don't have any photos.Dave W

I remember your thread Dave, why I `m not sure, maybe because I thought better of them, and maybe they are just getting to busy for quality control, but I am seriously considering buying them raw and cleaning them up and send them to Jet hot.Toys

I like the shape of these headers .
Well today was last day of the 5 days off . Spent most prepping the door jambs and cowl areas .
I also put on some chip guard like the older cars had from the factory . It will be colored like the car so will be barely seen . The rocker mlds will hide most of it also .

Bobby - every time I see what you are having to do to that 'stang it makes me very happy that I passed on that '67/8 'vert about 10-12 years ago.
You're doing a great job

Dave I did all the panels because they are very cheap . I could also get a good look at the insides and protect them more . Usually this cowls are in bad shape this is a southern car and they are clean .
This car could have used just the patches but I can do a full panel in the same amount of time . I am putting it together to last another 50 years or so .
But NEVER NEVER pass on a vert for good money LOL . Now you have to watch verts with all the extra bracing that is installed at the factory to support the car , but then again really cheap to restore when you can do the work .
