went to the parts store and got 2 freeze plugs the sizes of the holes. used high temp gasket sealant this afternoon and installed them. just waiting overnight for that to set up under my heat light as it is getting cold out there. will try for a restart tomorrow. wish me luck.

tried for another start up. blew those freeze plugs out of the front of the engine. so i modified the old pollution plugs and am now waiting for the high temp gasket sealant to dry. in the meantime i am changing the oil in our trooper with the hubby.

i sleep in short bursts. :LOL: i made hubby change the filter as it is located near the header and they were still warm.
Barb, when you get around to it check with either MTS or the Cad company both have the correct plugs. They go in dry (no set up time), and you use a SMALL socket or bolt to drive them in.
As far as modifying the old tubes in the interim most people just cut them off and then flatten the tube out and fold it over a time or two again using a hammer to flatten them out.
Your'e close, just hang in there.
thanks mike for the encouragement. that is what i did with the old pipes. i just put a little high temp sealant on the ends that i flattened to make sure that they are air tight.
You'll be backing it out the drive in the morning
still have to do the new universal joints. but i am getting close once i get this engine running well.

found out that the negative ground to the body from the battery was going bad. went yesterday and got a new one. think that i have the gremlins figured out now just have to fix those. in the meantime i have been helping charlie get his z running. that is probably what you heard as he is also running open headers. now if he brings his grades up he can put his car on the road.
Been there with 4 boys here the daughter was a different story
he can be so frustrating. fully capable of doing the school work just more interested in girls.

It sound give you plenty of practice looking for them girls in closets and under beds, backseats juccuz's and I forget wher else. I am out of pratice, my kids are grown for
