Everybody that is currently building a car...

Great looking stuff....That big block Camino really looks awesome; makes me miss my Monte Carlo. Brick, that Duster looks great, as does Tom's coupe. I've been out of touch for a few weeks but still progressing. I was primering my doors last night and ran out of reducer at about 7:30. I went over to Advance because they seem to be getting more and more in their paint section. Well, they had "Specialty Reducer" and "Enamel Reducer"; neither of which specified acrylic enamel:confused: I tryed the enamel reducer and when I dumped it in the paint it turned into a giant blob of jelly. :CRY: Going by the paint store for the right stuff tonight.

That really sucks falcon, caulk it up to the"Oh Well" factor. I get alot of those!

Your right Dave, those ol' Torgue thrusts make that car, and the big motor doesn't hurt it!!

This is just not my night; I got the reducer I needed and had exactly 6 oz of primer left. I figured it would be just enough. My gun would not quit spitting and they came out looking like crap; plus I'm out of primer now.:CRY: :CRY: Maybe I can wet sand them to get them looking decent enough.
I did get it back on all 4 feet in the last few weeks, got a tailgate built and started on my tail lights. Really not too much left; after the doors are back on I need to pull the master cylinder and get a new one, a couple front tires, a little wiring, primer the bed......I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Probably wishful thinking; but thanks for the sentiment. I needed a little positive thinking about now!

I like how you made your tailgate there, do you have any more pictures or info? I am going to make mine for my 55 f-100, However plan on it being smooth on both sides.

The edge of the fiberglass dash was wavy, had some flaws & needed to be the same thickness as the original padded dash. So, I ripped some signboard & glassed it to the inside edge of the dash.

I used painters plastic (thin stuff) as a release.

I laid a thick bead of "kitty Hair' fiberglass filler along the mounting flange.

Screwed the dash back in place so the bead would conform to the groove to make a new form fitting edge on the dash

Trimmed the excess glass & plastic off when it started to set up, and let it set overnight so it would hold it's new shape.

With a little finish work the new dash should fit much better. 8) 8) :D :D

Seems all the store bought glass parts need a bit of adjusting to make them fit correctly!!!!

Sometimes the steel ones aren't that much better....Had a heck of a time getting those Mustang quarters and door skins to fit my Ranchero correctly.....:whacked: :whacked:

Wouldnt it be nice to have everything to fit from the beginning.

I used some 3/4" square steel tubing from Lowes and 18 gauge sheet metal. Sorry, didn't stop to take pics, I was on a roll!
