Dave you are so right gives ya a little momentem for more. Today i crawled under the Fastback and it seems i'll have to put a bottom side on it . Even though it sat in a garage for years the michigan salt was still hungry . But that car will not be torn down till the rod is running . If you lived closer i'd keep ya working in your slow times LOL.

I use epoxy primer on everything Tom.... Can't work without them special Model T tools!!!! Fancy deal, piece of tubing welded to another piece of tubing and beat on it with a hammer!!! Nothing fancey, but it works!Quote:

I had a heck of a time getting the yoke on the El Camino but it didn't want to go and then the Monsoon set in, we got 11.5" here in a day and a half. Whats the best way to clean a little rust out of a yoke? I was thinking a bunch of pbs and a file. Any sugestions?
Thanks Denny, a pointed wire brush would be nice, good idea. I will see if I can locate one around town tomorrow, other than the drive line the El Camino is looking really good.

Brick, some of the best I've seen are what HVAC people use to clean copper pipe and such. Pointed little buggers with a handle attached.

These pics are from a couple weeks ago. I have the frame all assembled now, and the body is off the old frame and disassembled. Had to cut a good portion of the floor out to fit it to the new frame. Measured and ordered the 17" Dayton wire wheels for it today (made some temporary wheels for it out of 3/4" plywood to keep it mobile in the mean time). Made a cart for the body and sent it out for media blasting, then it will go to the body shop to fix the bullet holes and get some primer on it.
This one's going to be sweet. And contrary to what you may be thinking, this isn't going to be a trailer queen. The owner lives here in the Twin Cities, and plans to drive it to the Nationals in Louisville, to the Chili Bowl in Tulsa, and back and forth to his winter home near Phoenix.
I'll post more pics and details as the work progresses.
