Dave the faring is a good idea . I've allways liked the trucks with them and if i didn't have a cover on my bed i would have one . Will there be any slots or embosses placed in it or you leaving it flat .

I'm not sure yet Bobby... I've had a bunch of different ideas, everything from some rolled beads to a '56 T-Bird style port hole......Quote:

Looks great Dave. Will it be two tone like the truck?
Yup, I'll match the paint split line and pinstripe on the cab and the bed rails to the fairing.... also going to add a 3rd brakelight (LED's) on the top rear between the outer and inner skin....Quote:

I have no problem there if it can be in the copper form LOL . Heck i'll give ya four hand full's . That truck is a shiner for sure may need to be under glass when your done . It's being done with just the right look .
Thanks Bobby. The whole plan for the truck was to have it look like it was built in '72. Friend of mine accused me of "pimping it out".....   probably true, but in stock form the bumpside Ford's are just such plain jane looking things, thought it needed a bit of pizzazz to separate from the farm trucks!!!!!  :LOL:Quote:

O'h here is the last changes to front end love the eyebrows on headlights
Bobby - where did you come up with the 'bull bar'? I have an '06 F350 Super Duty with about a half acre of chrome for a grille which, IMO, needs some moderation.Quote:

It was a very productive day....for a change. :D Got the hubs hogged out on the IRS.....allowing room for the coil-overs just in front of the toe rod links. Tomorrow..cross-links forward to dropped (upside down **) ) crossmember.
Had a major boo-boo. Cut-off wheel exploded in my face....literally. Thank goodness for eye protection. Cut all the way through my cheek and clipped my sniffer. All is good though. My wife is starting to wonder what she married into. I have more accidents than I can shake a stick at.
I've seen some real progress with everyones projects.....Keep tooling along. Looks like the worst of the heat is behind us now....hopefully. Dave....that truck is looking great by the way!!!!
Dave
Bobby, the truck looks slick. Makes me think about the Jeep before the one I now own...really miss it.Quote:

Now that the outside of the box on the '71 is looking good, thought I should do something about the inside. I made a template with some posterboard and copied it onto some .090" aluminum.... Gives the inside of the box a finished look... Still have to do some sanding on the panels, then decide if it's polish or paint for the aluminum... Next thing for the box will be some nice wood and divider strips for the floor....
looking good Dave. Better watch it, you may end up keeping her after all this work!:3dSMILE:
Sheesh Dave, it's almost ready to hit the road! Nice work!
I like the aluminum touch Dave, nice. Thats going to be a really clean look, anywhere else getting the aluminum sheeting?
How is the red race car coming along? I still want to see a pic of it whens it's done
A man with a plan . Nice touch in the bed closing off the sides like that and with aluminum . But i think polished would be sharpest but it is alot of work .
Well, it is aluminum.....and the dash is polished aluminum..... Have to see what kind of mood I'm in tomorrow.....  :LOL:Quote:

I got this cheap but it needs some odds and ends before it's road ready. Then I STILL have to get to my son's 94 Firebird (anyone ever changed a heater core in one of these? The Haynes manual doesn't cover it.) Then MAYBE, POSSIBLY, I can work on my Plymouth again. It never fails; when you have time to work on them you dont have money. Then you get a little cash to put towards it and all your free time evaporates. Frustrating..........:(

I know exactly what you mean, Falcon!!! Keep trying to work on my own stuff, and I never really seem to find enough time to get things finished up....
My brake fittings for the front lines came in yesterday, switched from the nasty rubber ones to some braides stainless -4 lines... Need to pick up a master cylinder, couple fittings for the intake manifold and go for a drive around town then get it sold and on to other projects.... Like to also get the 'maro done and sold and get Tom's coupe put together before the bad weather gets here.... Then just a few other things to do before it gets cold like finish painting the house and garage, change out a couple more windows, and the usual fall work... Oh yeah, gonna be gone a couple weeks for my nephews wedding and a bit of snooping around in the Austin, Tx. area.... Other then that, not much going on here!!!!!!!!!!
Ok, breaks over, everybody back to work!!!!! We're wastin' daylight!!!!!!
Whaddaya mean? The sun ain't even up yet here in Vegas..........:)

Dave i would need a fist full for that truck .
Not to much breaking here still working line where fender and rocker come together . I had to weld up some beads and reshape the rocker line . Then where they stamped the bottom of fender patch was a bad line so i ground it straight now i will bead it also then finish grind .
I put in a little every day after work also helping a neighbor on his 65 cpe getting it ground down in the surface rusted areas .
Dave, I'm sure glad I don't have to deal with the winters up there anymore, here some of the houses have their water meter above the ground, a few have the water main running across the ground not buried. I am going to screw my snow shovel the wall, it is retired for good!!! :D If it snow up here, I'll wait it out, I am in no hurry anymore! ;) We owe nobody nothing, for anything!!! Feels GREAT! :)Quote:

I've got light at the end of the tunnel; my Aspire is back together, just have to get a windshield installed an it's on the road. The Sundance I bought my daughter will be done today and out of my shop. Only one more car between me and the Plymouth. We're putting a heater core, stereo, new carpet, headliner and re-doing the seats in my sons 94 Firebird. Hopefully no more than a months work, just have to work around football and volleyball games now that school is back in. It's killing me to have a little money and a bunch of new parts for the 48 but can't touch it yet. Getting closer, though.
Hard to beat a hemi with stacks, except maybe with a huffer on it!
I saw Dave's pickup in person and guys the pictures don't give it justice. All I can say is WOW WOW WOW. Sure glad he's doing the body work on my coupe; if it was me doing it you'd get sea sick from the ripples and waves.
I got back from my motorcycle trip tuesday night, put on 5624 miles in 19 days. Never rained only hot buggy weather, picture shows the proof, bugs all over.
Tomorrow I'll be back working on the 27 stocker, timer needs a little work then I'm taking it for a little ride and then pulling the rearend out of it.
Thanks Tom, I'm blushing!!!!
Looks like you got some bug scrubbin' to do!!!! Hope you guys had a good trip!
Tom you logged in a lot of miles in 19 days. Must of been fun! Glad to hear only the bugs got you! Dave post some more pics!

Getting close to being a driver, then hopefully sold so I can go shoppin' for Ranchero parts!!!!!
Heck Tom, thats one days riding here in Missouri, we have Lots of bugs here! Looks like you guys had a ball.
