Really looks nice Dave. Is there anything you can't do?
What kind of wheels are you planning on using? I ask because I've got a set of 5 on 5 1/2 slotted Mags that you could most likely barter out of me. Attached is what they look like except the one shown is a Unilug.
Going to be using some factory Ford steel wheels, 15' X 7" with stainless beauty rings and chrome lugs. Wheels are painted red on the outside, white on the inside
Thanks Falcon, this one will be for sale as soon as it's done! Need room for Tom's coupe and $$$$$$ for my Ranchero.... Then got to get the 'maro done and sold and start on the Bronco II (chopped, dropped, sbf, and a 5 speed) so I'll have something to use when I wanna go play with the rest of the kids!!!!!
Oh yeah, and scrounged up a pair of 15 x 7 slotted aluminum wheels for Greg's Galaxy, too!
Falcon see the truck is moving up at ebay .
Dave also see the pickemup getting ahead too. I like the wheels you put on the galaxie looks period . Your friend will be smiling ear to ear when that car gets a repaint .
Starting vacation this Friday and hopefully we'll all see a vid of the 67 cpe running for the first time in 10 yrs . Prices are going up clips for brake and fuel line was $46 today 28 piece set . Allmost a $100 for 3 soft lines . Still looking in boxes for one of the brkts for hard line to soft . Did a move in the tear down time and i think it went into hiding .
Another good day's work (for me that's about 3 days) and the box should be ready for paint... Not much after that except finish up some wiring, put the seat in, and fire it up....
Well bet you've been wrapped around the new grand babie abit also.
A good day for me is called tinkering around a few hours . But if there is a couple new bolts in im happy .
Only 4 hours left; dont be shy. You wife really wants you to have this truck!:LOL:Quote:

Not a bad price, Falcon, a bit of working capital, anyway.
Working on the pickemup this weekend, the new carb and distributor didn't show up on the big brown truck yesterday, so I can't finish up under the hood yet... Still have a few odds and ends to finish up on the engine, but it's pretty much ready to fire... Should get the blocking done on the box (again) today, then hopefully it will be ready for sealer on Saturday and maybe even some paint on Sunday or Monday!!!!!
Dave what size motor are you running in the truck? If it's a 429 or 460, where did you get the aftermarket pulleys. I'm running into problems with the placement of the alternator, so looking at the set up in your truck, that would work. I only found a few aftermarket billet ones, and thy are in the hundreds of dollars!
The engine is a 351W. I made my own alternator brackets and had to redrill the water pump pulley... Bought the set of 3 for like $70.00 on eBay... A bit of hassle to install, but they look good.....
they do look good! The search continues for me!:D
Been too busy to work on the "Z" lately.
Today I'm workin' on the P.U., getting it service & cleaned up for the DragList Nationals III, 2 weeks from today @ Eddyville Dragway Park In IA.

2nd day of vacation (1st day cut grass and napped ) started looking for the hidden brackets for the engine . Some i had cleaned and painted before they where put away . Only one left is alternator brkt to strip and paint . Wish i would have taken pictures of it before i took them all off. Got it figured out and couldn't find the alternator spacer only thing missing in action so far , I made a temp out of gutter nail spacer till i can find it or get the correct one . Looking in parts cat they list them all without air this has air . . I went thru a move after car was apart 8 yrs ago , so some things were packed in any box open . Get it running then pull out the pressure washer to knock off 10 yrs of dust . May have a buyer with a guy i work with he said he's intererested .
Look closely at the apron you can see the original factory runs in the paint .
Looks good, Bobby! Ford Blue was a cool engine color. Looks like the test fire is pretty close?
Well plans for fire are before the 21st . Put a few hours every morning then enjoy the time off with momma . Still have to rebuild carb and see if i can get tank cleaned . Who does tank cleaning anyway i never dealt with that one a rad shop maybe .
We have a radiator shop here locally that does, probably the same around you, too....
Anyway, break time's over, back to sanding on the box and (hopefully) getting the base color sprayed......
Dave thanks going to give a few a call and see who local does it .
Update edit found one in Joliet for $55 to clean . When i bought the car in 97 i put about 3 gals of gas in it . I dumped out about 1 1/2 gallons of some real stinky varnish looking substrate . The tank really rusted on the inside more then i would have thought . All i want is to get any loose material out so i don't have to worry about it clogging up the lines or carb . New owner will be notified it needs a new tank $130 to the door mustangs unlimited .
Ordered a new sending unit all thats left of original in pic .
Nasty looking sending unit ya got there Bobby!!!!!!!

I think they're on to you Dave! :D

Boy o boy - do I ever feel left out. All I got was a note on my new catalog that if I bought $125 worth of new treasures they would take $20 off. Humfff!! That wasn't much of an incentive - and I too filled in their web survey !!!
I even got a new 422 page Summit cat yesterday - unfortunately ~150 pages of their best goodies are missing.
Whatever - congrats Dave S, I'm sure you need those parts. And more.:whacked:
Thanks! I'll take it. Last thing I ever won was #7 in the draft lottery!!!!!
Mine was 360. What can I say......
The shipping company picked it up today and it's heading for New Jersey. Sold it to a really nice young guy named Shane who just got back from Iraq after getting his arm amputated from being shot.:( "All I need is one arm to keep building cars, dude," he says. Thank you for your service, Shane. Because of guys like you, we can all have the freedom to keep building cars.
I'm glad to hear he made it home alive. It's sad to hear about what young kids are going through right now. I'm glad your truck is inspiring him on! Dave Congrats! 20 bucks is 20 bucks!Quote:

Dave loan me $5 will ya LOL
falcon great to hear a hard core car nut took it . As Dave has said before , this is great Therapy being in the garage and working on cars .
That car is really clean underneath, Bobby. Should bring a nice bit of $$$$. We need at least one full throttle, nuetral drop burnout video before you let it go.:D
The first day when i bought it i did that in the drive way . Well lets say it launches left and i allmost had to reside . You know its funny it will spin tires with no brake torque . (lite rear end)
Got the paint on the Pickup box now...and on to the dreades cut and buff... Garage is to small and too full to get any pics but I'll get some this weekend.... Waiting for the rest of the exhaust tubing to come in, then it's time to fire it up, finish the interior, and install the final option-----the FOR SALE sign!!!!
Dave your going to put a lap on it ? Stang hasn't been around as long as the pickemup but there has to be some time you've talked to it LOL.
Probably drive it around the block once. Heck, it's almost done, I'm bored!!!!   For me the fun is still in the build!!!! Just want to turn it into ca$h and buy more Ranchero goodies!!!!Quote:

Dave with your talent would like my 67 fastback there for a year or 2 and put the E car to shame . I know you could do that with one eye closed and a arm in a sling .
Heading out to Panama City, FLA for a week. It's my daughter's graduation present; a week on the beach in a condo. Talk to you guys next week, be cool.:D
Thanks,,,,just too bad I'm so dang slow, huh???? Oh well, put the word out that it's for sale, hope to turn it fast and get going on other things.... I've had it for 17 years now, time somebody else owned it.... Maybe they'll do more then leave it in the warehouse most of the time!!!!!  :LOL:Quote:
