Very cool, Bob. Grey is the perfect color for that beast.
35 I bookmarked it this time makes it easy to see progress.
Bob nice change on the wheels I do like the black rims on it .
Thanks guys. Steve, the ornament that came on it was the stock one (broken V legs) with the greyhound clamped on top of it. It was a Ford aftermarket thing in the '30s, they've been repopped for years. To my tastes it's too much of a tarty restoration type treatment, so I replaced it with a new Drake original style. If you're into the details, I also took off the seal beam conversions and went back to the original style, put in a Drake halogen kit to get better light, it's a 12v system now. Besides the lowering front and rear I also spent time cleaning up the rest of the under carriage, redoing some wiring and plumbing that was pretty sloppy and put in a Red's exhaust from headers to rear tips. Since you asked about the rear treatment, before and after pics attached. I took off the spare, moved the plate to the center of the bustle (hides the spare mount holes without having to do body and paint :D), and put the rear bumper on shortened brackets so it didn't look like it was hangin' way out there. Bobby, I played with both red and black and the black won. I've got another set of hubcaps coming that I'll also paint black so I can change up the look. The all black will give it more of a hot roddy look than these grey ones do, but I like the look of both so I'll keep both colors. My expectation is the Posie rear spring will settle down some as they usually do so the attitude will change some in the future.
Did a bit of restyling on the grille opening on the Plymout.... Wanted to hide the radiator tank from the front view thru the grille and open up the sides a tad for better air flow for the radiator, condensor, and tranny cooler. Worked out good, the owner likes the new look, sez it should confuse the heck out of peeps as to what the car is...and of course I like it cuz it's a departure from original and should help the driveability of the car... Got to do a bit more sheetmetal work, then get the body on the rotissierie and go to work on the frame finishing and body work....
Looks nice Dave. Owner's gonna have one sweet ride when you guys finish.
Thanks, it's getting there!!! Definitely not a "buy it and bolt it on" build!!! Lots and lots of hours in designing and fabricating, but it should be a nice car!
Actually spent some quality time with the 'maro today. Got one frame tie cut out and tacked into place. Other side is almost ready. Then it's time for some engine and transmission mounts and fabbing up the rest of the suspension pieces.... Now if somebody would just wanna buy the dang thing when it's a roller so I don't have to suffer the humiliation of having to finish a chebbie in my garage!!!!!!:LOL::LOL:
That's a sweet looking ride, Dave. If John Dillinger had that car, he never would have been caught. Glad to see the Camaro making headway again. We're changing your screen name to "Bowtie Dave" in honor of your love for GM!:LOL:
A master at work and Dave that sure does look different . Yeah what about the bow tie :D .
You know you could regain your pride by working on this .

Sure do like the little coupe Bobby!!!! Built one of them many moons ago, in the sedan version.... A lightly rolled over Mark IV Lincoln gave up it's drive train, engine, power everything, and a "tuned up" 460, a real sweetheart to travel in.... The Plymouth I'm building is similar to my old sedan, just a bit bigger. Would be fun to tie into one of the coupes someday, lots of potential!!!!
We were taught bow ties choked people!:LOL:
:D Wonder if we'll be able to pick on you much longer Dave. Ford is still going strong. :D
Heck. I may turn from the dark side sooner than I think. My wife has found a 67 Fastback and said she IS buying it. Now if I can just figure out how to get this emblem on the hood.:LOL::LOL:
