Got a few more things done on the pickup, box is bolted down, fuel tank in place, and the sidepanels in the box painted and reinstalled....Now to find that new owner!!!!
Spent some time on the 'maro....with all the engine setbac the footwell got a bit crowded but still going to have room for a 3 pedal!!!! Heck, I'd move whatever I had to just to keep from being "shiftless".....:LOL::LOL::LOL: Friend of mine stopped by and said the car's name should be WAC--as in Wild A__-Camaro... not sure he appreciates my restyling efforts, he's something of a chebbie purist.....Oh well, I like it!!!!!:LOL::LOL::LOL:
A guy stopped by last week and asked how much for the car right now, and how much to finish it..... Maybe that's what I should do???? Offer it for sale like they do commercial real estate---"Will build to suit tenant"...... Any takers?????
It was good to meet you Jerry. I think that makes a grand total of maybe 4 people from CHR I've met to date. That crate engine sounds like a good idea. Might keep it as a spare when I'm done with it.Quote:

Parts pressed together. I didn't want the anvil assembly to rely on threads cut in aluminum, so I made this little pocket to hold a nut for the 3/4" ready rod that will be the adjusting screw.

Here's where it's at so far. I have those cylinder rams cut to length. Turned a hub for the adjusting wheel that will be mounted on top. There will be a plate where the brass bushings are to tie the assembly together. Got a wheel and mounting flanges to make yet and the top anvil part of the project will be done.

I found some aluminum at the salvage yard that just said "I want to be an English wheel". I am building it to fit in the receiver I have on the wall for the other attachments. So, aluminum will make it a bunch lighter when I attach it to the wall to use. Old guys have to consider these things ya' know. :whacked:

Gonna be a very nice piece of shop equipment--better keep the hand cleaner and towels nearby, be a shame if anyone got the wheel dirty!!!! As always, some excellent work!
Mostly stayed in and watched the Dover race, but I did make a few pieces for the dash and footwell on the 'maro. With the engine setback, things are a bit tight for a 3 pedal car, but it should work out just fine!!! The hoop under the dash will support the dash and also the rear engine plate. The posterboard template will be some 22 ga. steel, just for cosmetics. Decided the stock dash looked like poo-poo, going to build and aluminum dash for the car. Oh yeah, the stock grey seat in the picture is one of the pair I advertised on here last week as for sale--they're dirty, but structurally they are still very good seats.
The side panels on the inside of the pickup were brushed aluminum---then my "color advisor" informed me they didn't match anything on the truck and I should paint them white--so I did and she is (as always) right!!!!:LOL::LOL::LOL: Just have to bolt the tank in and hook up the filler tube, supply line, and sender wiring. There's also another panel that covers the tank....
Oh yeah, put an ad on Racing Junk for the truck, ad #1665025 if you'd know of anyone interested in the truck. Sure would like to sell it and throw some $$$$ at the Ranchero!!!!!!
Well it has been a while and I see you guys are still moving along . This is where the A sits today mostly done with no paint . Sure hope Ebay likes it because I did order all the sheet metal for the 37 Coupe last Friday.
