Cool to see everybody's projects coming along. Got a little more done tonight.
Cutting out the backing plate. The slots are to index the backing plate to the adjuster assembly.

Cutting out the top cap that connects the ready rod to the rams.

Top cap completed. The brass thrust bushings are pressed in from the top and bottom. They come about .020 short of touching each other. This allows grease to be pumped in from the grease fitting.

Assembly is pretty close to done. This shows the index slots that align the backing plate to the assembly.

I also added a grease fitting to each ram cylinder just to keep everything workin' smooth.

Trying to finish mine by feb. Will be tearing it down in a couple of weeks for paint and body work. Still have some roof work before I am ready for that though.:D

Yea thats a nice body, mine was ruff :D What dont ya finish it? I have a murray 4 door and a 26 touring, a hondo drag boat, omega jet boat, what a 53 ford pickup I am almost done with.:D Hold on to it untill you get around to it. You no that old stuff is not gettin any cheaper. The pickup is a second rebuild. I just put it on the back burner untill the model a is done. Mine....still on the back burner until Dustin and I finish his Elky. Oh bugger!!!! Well...the Elky is pretty much bare metal now. Almost finished with the last of the welding and grinding. I've never been much of "chrome guy". So when Dustin asked me to help him shave the car I gave him the thumbs up. I fear we're nearly at the end of body work till things warm up. I know we'll have several nice weekends still but I know Mr. Cold is around the corner.
I concidered heating the shop with a kerosene heater but was a little worried about it putting a film of oil in the air? Dont want problems during the paint process. Can anyone give me advice about the kerosene heaters?

How deep a throat are you putting on your wheel?????
I'm not sure yet. That's the next piece to figure out. Probably around 24'' - 26'' or so. I'm building it out of 2''x4'' aluminum tube to keep the weight down. I have a plan to stiffen it up. I want to keep it light so it won't be too much of a chore to get in and out of the receiver.
