hmmmmm - the Kiwi's beat on each other.
Nice 'bucket Whiplash. I do recall mine very well!!
As far as photos - I finally gave up trying to resize and use Photobucket. You put a photo on that site, then just copy over to here. I'll put one here but with and without an error so you can see what they look like.
ERROR:

WITHOUT the error:

I use a package named Easy Thumbnails which is a free download and drop dead simple to use. Once I have the thumbnail I use the "manage attachments" feature in the message area to browse my computer to the right file, and attach the image.
http://www.fookes.com/ezthumbs/
My original files are generally too big to upload to PhotoBucket without making thumbnails of them, anyway.
-
I think the easiest one I've used is Microsft Picture Manager. It was already on my computer and has a "compress" picture option. A lot of computers already have it; just right click on a picture and go to "open with". If you've got it, it will be listed there.
-
You can also set your camera to a lower vsp setting which makes smaller pics also. Then they are small enough to use your "Paint" accessorie to reduce it.
-
I drop my pics. on Photobucket and it automatically sizes the pic.for use on message boards. My pics. start out as 42'' wide files.

But the question is.... Can I repeat the task??? I am about to download/upload a current phot of the bucket. I like your bucket IC2 and I'm envious of those wire wheels on the front.I believe we can't use wire wheels on our buckets now with our certification laws, but Lamin8r may correct me. Oh, Lamin8r,I can give you the name of a good aussie cosmetic surgeon if your hair is receding and you want a touchup....

Perfect picture!! I still really like a 'bucket
Ahhhhh wire wheels - yep, they are traditional, they do look nice but beyond a PITA to keep clean then - occasionally (every other year!) realign. I even had them on the back for several years:CRY::CRY:Thankfully, someone else has that problem now with that car after they made me an offer I couldn't refuse.

I use the HP image zone that came with mine to use with manage attachments . But I also use web shots to store and download to a forum . They offer a few sizes to transfer photo's .

Street Rodder mag often has an ad for the nice 12 spoke wheels - Radir is the mfr and here's their web site: http://www.radirwheels.com/contents.htm
That's what I originally wanted but when I built my 'bucket in the '80s, the only ones available didn't have any brake capabilities.
Hair - about every 2-3 months I have to ream out the shower drain to remove the detached strands. Since their color is brown touched with some snowy color, it sure isn't from my wiffy:eek::CRY::CRY: The nice part about losing your hair - trips to the barber shop come less often:LOL:
-
Barber shop????? What's that???
-
Place where they lower your ears!:whacked::D

Yeah,Radirs, nice wheels,I think we had some local home grown jobbies down here too,at one stage many years ago, only the rich and famous could afford anything from USA,so Kiwi ingenuity stepped in and did some NZ copies ,,Ha ,we must have been the worlds first Chinese...:D
Hair?I think it must have something to do with age,,my drain looks like that too, here I was thinking it was customers...Yeah,Stovens,my late dads favorite saying,Going to get my ears lowered...:D

How guyz, leave your hairs alone... I scored a set of Halibrand ali wheels of Steve Keys for my bucket,15x4 and 15x10 unpolished wheels and the most difficult part was buying 145x15 tryes for the front. I also have a pair of 15x10 Truspoke wires that need stripped and powder coated for a change but silly me had found two 14x5 truspoke at a swapmeet and by time I thought about them while looking around the guy who had them had packed up and gone,so that was a lesson I learnt about swapmets,DO NOT dick around!!!:(
-
That sux; but your right about swap meets. If you think you want it; you better grab it on the first pass.

I sell at swap meets occasionally - and most of what I sell is nice and well displayed so I do get top buck. It amazes me how often guys will tell me they can get it cheaper 2 rows over. When they find that cheaper means rusty, dented parts missing, mine looks good and when they come back to me, it's been sold - then the bitching starts:LOL::LOL::LOL:
-
You're right on, IC2. I've got some good stuff I needed at swap meets but not very many of them were smokin cheap deals. Most guys who take the time to load up, drive a few hours, and sit outside for the day arent going to let their stuff go for pennies. And they shouldn't. Cheap is where Ebay and Craigslist comes in.
-
Actually taking some time off to work on my own stuff for a change!!!! Yesterday I fit up a couple more header tubes for the 'maro, today I hope to get the proportioning valve and brake line pluming installed on my pick-em-up!!! Some day that 3 foot high pile of snow behind the garage will disappear and I can maybe finally DRIVE my '71 out of the shop!!!!!
-
Me too once the doggies get out for a stroll. Then it's trans shifter install time.
-
my ride after powder coat

-

Yeah, it probably is against the law to cover up that chassis, think I read that law in one of the old Hot Rod Law books!!!!;) Anyway, great work! Sure is going to be an impressive looking ride!!!!
-
I think I'd just have to throw a seat on there and drive it just like it is! I heard Show Me is a top notch shop; hopefully they treat you right.

Had to take a break away from internet. I'm back....preparing to hit the 36 again....but also thinking about buying a Pro Street Roller from a friend. 67 Nova. Not sure though. Still have my sons 65 Elky to paint first spring. Cant wait for warmer weather!
-
By the way, going back through everyones threads.....need the inspiration. I know I have a lot of work to get the 36 on the road. It comes so easy for some of you guys (that would be a compliment) but I have ADD and the build is taking soo long. If I can get the whole thing mocked up at least I can take it for a spin. The rest is easy for me. Its the intial build thats killing me. LOL's.
Hats off to all my CHR friends! You guys are all great!
Also....anyone that could go through some of my build pics and recognize anything that just doesnt look right....let me know. I'm all for ideas and/or critiqueing. One thing I notice....because I shortend the bed....now the cab looks too tall. LOL's. Someone else mentioned they didnt like how I hung the rear coil springs.....off the 9/16" bolt in the bottom of the spindles.
Have some ideas to modify the brake pedal.....moving it over another inch to get it away from the steering column. I'm kinda stuck with the position of the steer column.
Good to talk to guys again. Been away too long.
-
Where ya been man??? Good to have you back amongst us!!!
-
I cant explain it.....I just get overloaded with the whole internet thing....so I just take a break from it all. Could say I just got a bit burned out. I went nearly every day for a year on the 36. Then my wife and I finally found a house we both love and moved less than 1/4 mile from work. So now....nothing is too wild for engine choice.
-
Good to have you back, man! Sometimes a break is just what you need to get motivated again.
