Yes we are painting everything. I had bought 2 gallons of base (colour) we dumped both gallons out into a bucket and mixed them together then dumped back into their cans. I hope I have enough left.Quote:

Great idea to use some of the truck color in the staining of the wooden bed - really ties the truck together. Not to steal the thread, but we did a sprayin for the '71 and used some of the base color in a clear bedliner and the results were awesome.Attachment 75581
We had debated on doing bedliner and body paint on my running boards, decided against it, they're just going to have to get scratched up and chipped.
Also nice to start putting on small detail items here and there, so many boxes of parts sitting around collecting dust for years now.

Been busy with other life things, still need to sand the front fenders and a few small panels to get the rest ready for base coat. Slow progress but it will be done this year.
Stopped by the shop, someone has been busy with the bedside wood. I like it.

Both the bedside wood mock up is in place, still going to get some more work done to them but I like it. Should be close to laying down base coat on the rest of the truck soon.

Also was able to get another transmission in my old Jeep and drive it around the block, I have had it 24 years next month. Still needs some work done before I start driving it again, I am just happy I can move it around under its own power.

Nothing big going on except sanding. I am hoping we can sand everything and be okay with it, I would prefer not to reshoot any clear.

Paint is KILLER, and so are the new rocker guards!
Two pieces ready for cutting compound. We'll see how long it takes us to get all this stuff finished. I am so ready to be done, currently still have zero excitement about it and I really struggle to spend my free time working on it. I am hoping once assembly starts that will change. We are brainstorming ideas to display and share our story at Autorama with all three of our 40 fords together.

Still a bunch of sanding clear coat going on, things are getting close to everything getting
to the cutting compound stage.
Neighbor has the seats mostly finished, I'm happy with them, this is his first time doing leather upholstery.

Assuming that's the SLC Autorama the first weekend in April you've still got a little over 4 months and it's looking really good! Get a buddy or two over for some weekends of thrashing on the truck, and change "Sure hope we can" to "We're gonna"!! ;):LOL::LOL:Quote:

Thanks everyone, its not without its flaws but I am happy and thankful for how it has all been turning out. I don't know whos dumb idea it was to put a big block in this thing but its going to be super fun changing plugs and stuff. :LOL:
