LOLs. Your computer is upside down guys. It looks right on mine. Must be an IPad thing. I'll try to edit it.....upside down. Are both pictures upside down?
nope, just the one of the car!
Heck, you were probably thinking we had all gone nuts!!!!!
LOLs. If anyone s nuts its me. :whacked:
Ok. I revered the second picture. It's upside down for me now. LOLs. Did that work?
Hmm. That's odd.
I can see the southern cross just above the tire tread, blazing in the sky! :)
Lol Steve.
Finally took some pics of Mike's Cutlass, should have cleaned the car a bit before I took the pics!!!
Anyway, what was left of the stock dash was rusted out along the windshield so I cut out all the bad stuff and replaced it with good stuff! Mike wanted the gauges up where he could see them, so rather then get a repop dash, I just built this one. He also wanted the shifter where his hand would fall right on it without leaning forward or reaching so I built a console for it, too. (Cage and tubs were already installed years ago.)
The car sat outside for about 4 months with no glass in it, so I had to do a bunch of grinding and sanding to get the tubs and the rest of the interior panels and floor ready for paint. I'd almost forgotten how much fun it was to clean, sand, prep, and paint a bunch of roll bars!!! Just picture a crippled old dude playing on a jungle gym!!!!!!!:LOL::LOL:
The color is HOK Pagan Gold. Florescent lights and a cheapo camera don't do the color justice, I'll get some good pics when the car is done and sitting outside so that Randy the picture Sheriff doesn't chastise me again, I still have bruises!
WOW, big difference since the last pics we saw. Interesting color, the pic of the tubs (3rd one down) shows the depth of the color I think.
Cool approach on the dash, simple and effective.
And I'm glad you put those pics up, as his deputy, you know how he'll beat on me for sleeping on the job!:LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL:
'course we won't mention how his own project has been mia...:p
Exceptional work, Dave; this is really going to be a head turner!
Yay, Dave!!!! Glad to see you posting pics again!!! The bruises will heal.....eventually!!:LOL::LOL::LOL:
Now, if we can just get a shot of that "old guy playing on a jungle gym".......:LOL::LOL::LOL:
Thanks for the comments guys! The bruises are getting better, however the broken bones will take a bit longer Randy!!!! As for the "old guy playing on a jungle gym" I'll have to leave that up to your imagination!
Now I'm finishing up the wiring and waiting to see if Mike wants to bring the engine up and set it in the car before I put the front sheetmetal back on....
Nice work Dave. I like the color.
Kind of a green flake under the gold. Really like the custom guage mounts you fabbed and the console. One of these days when the cold starts to get to you during the winter, I have a nice warm place for you to work on an old truck with free food! :) Roger recently gave me a beating over not posting pictures, didn't realize he was related to Randy!:LOL:
Had to go look for the software that we use, had a couple printouts in the tool box.
Here's a link to the one we use, works great!!!
RaceWORKS drag racing software
same company offers a lot of racing electronics, sure beats trying to use that blank area where my memory used to be!!!!!
I normally don't have a lot to share (but I lurk a lot!), and I seem to suck at posting pictures (either they come up as attachments or are too small), but I'll give 'er a try-
I took a week off of Work and concentrated on my Car-first, I installed a new Concept One Serpentine system (after I used Shineseal (the old Zoop's seal on it), and I chose concept One for a few reasons-they would custom make me a Crank Pulley (one that was shorter, so that I could use my Holley Dominator Crank Trigger, and, they also made a spacer behind the Pully so that I could use, say, an MSD Crank trigger in the future).
Then, I found a Machine Shop that would inlet my Crank Trigger bracket into the Concept One mount (they did a nice job)-
After thatt, I used red Scotchbrite pads and scuffed my entire Interior and then shot it with Lizardskin, and then used all of the Dynamat that I had (I re-ordered this morning for enough to finish)-I am just starting to put a few things back in, and I hope things will move faster as I mocked up the entire Interior before I tore it apart for the Lizardskin-Here are a few pictures (maybe?)-
(See Pictures below)
OK, I give up, I can't get them big enough--
I size mine at 640 X 480, seems to be a decent size for posting on here.
Dave,
Thank you! Here is a test Photo to see how it works-

It works! (now I can infiltrate this Forum and bore all of you with my dastardly, evil Pictures!)-now, on to Photobucket to resize them all (see you in a few hours!)-
Well, Thanks to Mr. Dave here are some pictures you can actually see!
First off, here are a few of the modified Concept One Serpentine System (with custom Crank Pulley and Crank Trigger provisions)-

You're certainly welcome, 35! Car looks great now that I can see it!!!!!:LOL::LOL:
Thank you all very much for the positive comments (it really does help when it seems like your project will never get finished)-sure do miss IC2-
We want MORE! We want MORE! lol...
Well, since you asked so nicely.......(remember, you asked for it!)-
Seriously, I do not want to come across as one of those guys that "crows" too much (so, if I do, someone PLEASE tell me and I'll stop!)-
Please view these Photos as coming from someone who has too much time to think about things, and not from someone who knows what the heck he is doing :whacked:
So, without further ado (and you can turn the Channel whenever you'd like), here are a few pictures of my Trunk. It is certainly not finished, as I will have the Upholstery Shop do more to it, but you can at least get an idea of "maybe" what I'm trying to accomplish-
First off, as most of you know, a '35 Ford 5 Window did not come with a "Trunk" per se-they were known as a Business Coupe, for the Fuller Brush man and the like, so they were open from the back of the Driver's Seat to the Trunk lid-I wanted a Trunk and a flat Floor (and, I wanted access to the Fuel Sender/Filler/feed lines, so I did this:
I made a flat floor with 1" X 1" tubing, and insulated it.hen, I convered the Tank opening with a cover that I Dzus fastened to the 1" X 1" Frame( for safety):
http://i145.photobucket.com/albums/r...psf7db2123.jpg
I have since changed the Fuel Lines to one with a return for the EFI-that is a Rock Valley Stainless Tank that I had polished:
http://i145.photobucket.com/albums/r...ps4fdf7105.jpg
http://i145.photobucket.com/albums/r...psbbbbcafd.jpg
I insulated over that Cover (and selaed it with aluminum tape), and then I made covers (I countersunk the socket head bolts) for the front and the back of the Frame (so that I could access the Tank):
http://i145.photobucket.com/albums/r...ps4856b912.jpg
I decided to make Aluminum Panels for the Trunk out of .060 6061T6-
I took the back panel into work and used our 40 Ton press to emboss the 1/8" "V8" sign that I had waterjetted, and used 2-1" thick plates and some 80 durometer hardness urethane to press this into it (believe me that was an education in itself):
http://i145.photobucket.com/albums/r...ps042c1cfc.jpg
I used Dzus fasteners to make everything easy access, and, it came out like this(and no, the Carpet is NOT staying!)
http://i145.photobucket.com/albums/r...ps8d8eb886.jpg
http://i145.photobucket.com/albums/r...psfda3af59.jpg
http://i145.photobucket.com/albums/r...ps92680e09.jpg
I wanted a remote Trunk Latch (and I needed some sort of "Poppers", so I made this (it may look like it's "off", but it is the Camera angle:
http://i145.photobucket.com/albums/r...psda8a360c.jpg
I had to modify the Trunk Lid for the Poppers (to be able to push on, and make a Striker for the Latch:
http://i145.photobucket.com/albums/r...ps3cebb623.jpg
Ok, I will stop now, and you can cry Uncle-thanks for looking!
Looking good. The 36 5 window I had many moons ago the trunk lid was reversible so that it could be a trunk or a rumble seat, is yours the same?
Mine had all of the hardware for a Rumble when I got it (that is a Wescott's Fiberglass Trunk Lid btw),so yes, it did-as crazy (stupid?) as it sounds, I could not envision someone stepping on my Fenders to get in the back, as I did not want those step platforms (I wanted a clean rear)-here it is (I have since flush mounted my tailights to keep it clean-
