Well, thank you for your consideration!!!!! Would you like me to give you a call to come hang out when the grinding and sanding on the next project starts??? I recall how you enjoy that part of a build!

Sure, just bring a couple beers!!
of course.... I'll NEVER collect!:LOL::LOL:
I think my pick-em-up is next, have to do a repaint after last summer's vandalism to it. Then, the Camaro will go on the rotisserie for a trip to the sandblaster, the '66 Impala (a real SS BTW) will come in the garage to begin the repaint project.
While all this is going on, I'm accumulating suspension pieces for the '57 and the Camaro, another busy summer around here!!!!!!
It's pretty easy to shop online, Dave. Check this out: Amazon.com: digital camera :D:D
I bought a $99 P&S as a backup to my DSLR boat anchor from B&H Photo. It was supposed to be a reconditioned Nikon S9100 - but it's a brand new overstock camera that originally listed for $329 Used Nikon Coolpix S9100 Digital Camera (Black) 26248B B&H Photo So far it's doing great - here's a photo of a new baby router that Santa brought me to show some detail of how sharp the closeup are:

I think it's great to support your local place! I'm sure they can use your "support" right now so don't delay!:D
Besides, from all the "pressure" you're getting to buy a camera, you can see this site is like Missouri....the "Show me" state!!:LOL:
Of course, you know we're just kiddin' around....sorta!;) You can buy a new camera when you damn well please! But the point is, we all hope it's sooner than later cause you do so much interesting stuff and inquiring minds wanna know!:LOL:
Heck - I'd even send you my 10 year old Nikon 3200 P&S. It tends to be cantankerous and slow, but still works. FREE!!
Started putting the firewall and cowl back together on the Cutlass. Base of the windshield had some rusted out areas, I also cut out the little vents for the heater and replaced them with a piece of 20ga., re positioned the tubes from the down tubes of the cage to the front of the frame, and welding the new pieces into the firewall.....Nothing real exciting just the usual cut, fit, weld, and grind.....
Not a hot rod, but I did a van wrap this last week.

WOW!!!!! Very nice work Pro!!!! Had to be a bunch of computer time to get that whole wrap to come out that nice!!!!! There's a number of racers around here that have gone to wraps instead of paint!
:) Thanks Dave. Yea, there's some time involved in this project. Just got an email, the boss likes it and is going to send over another one. :)
Wraps are simply amazing!! Gotta get the graphic file right, which is a bit of an art I expect, but the transformation unbelievable - plain white box to multicolored billboard in a day!! And the base doesn't have to be white! Great job on the layout, and the application!
Any ideas?
1954 Olds 88 2 Dr Hardtop
1982 GM 350 v8 engine, electronic distributor conversion, w/ GM 4 speed manual transmission
I am looking for connectors: for...
-alternator (3 horizontal connections at back)
-battery
-electronic distributor
-starter
-wiring from front headlights and signal lights: has an old connector (old 1954 plastic, square shape)
The old wiring is still in place for the old distributor, temperature sensor, oil pressure sensor, and blower motor.
Great looking wrap, congratulations!
You guys forgot to mention riveting! Buck rivets, no less. The rivet tool is some old WWII aircraft riveting tool.
My buddy Rick is fabricating some bomber seats for my '32 just to change up the look a little, plus when we were checking seat fitment they give a lot of extra room compared to the bench seat. As you see below, the seats are still a work in progress. We're doing polished edge details and a brushed finish on major surfaces. Another local guy will be doing some light brownish leather pads for both seats. I need to buy a larger size dimple die punch for a couple more details.

Nice work on the seat, Nick!!! Anxious to see them all done up!!!!
Just can't see that being comfortable. Keep us up to date once you've been able to go for a ride of some length.
Here's a cheap way to wire that I've done a few times. Go to the boneyard and find an early 80's full size GM car with a V8. Remove entire wiring harness from front to back. Take everything; fusebox, switches, connectors, etc and dont cut anything. Stretch it all out on the floor of your garage. You'll also need an ohmmeter along with a wiring diagram (Haynes manual or internet). Start eliminating everything you wont use at the source; usually where it comes off of the fusebox. Mark everything you're going to keep. You should end up with a good harness you can transplant in the car that will be easy to troubleshoot for a minimal investment. I got mine for free from a GM G-body wagon but you should be able to buy the whole thing for $25-$40 and you'll have all the connectors you need.
Mike, sometimes it's not about comfort..... just ask any woman about high heels...:LOL:
Actually, you might be surprised. Some of those old metal tractor seats were surprisingly comfortable...unless it was 20 degrees when you sat on it!
He did say he's having some leather pads made.....:)
Those old metal tractor seats had quite a bit of well placed dish to them where the old bomber seats are pretty flat. Maybe the comfort factor has to consider how much natural padding is involved too? Seems to me they would get pretty uncomfortable for my skinny backside on an extended highway trip, but they do look cool.
I'm all about the comfort AND lookin' cool doin' it!! :)
Strange you would know about the High Heels!! :HMMM::HMMM:
With 5 "old" tractors equipped with metal pan seats, I'd prefer my hot rod with something more... "substantial".. Oh, just about all the tractors have pads added!!
Too FUNNY!!! Thanks for the smiles!
You guys are hilarious ...but realistic with those comments. I often head out and cruise for hours at a time since I love to just drive a fun car. With a thin pad on the seat and back these things feel very comfortable. I'm optimistic but I'll report actual results after driving for four or five hours at a clip. If they don't meet the comfort test we'll take a hammer to them until they do.
use a parachute for a seat pad!!!!!!!!!!
You want comfortable bomber seats - I got comfortable bombers though not quite as elaborate:

I do have to say that with the top on the car, a course in contortionism (new word!!) wouldn't be bad, especially if you don't have a skinny butt :LOL:
===============================================
Those do look great. And the yellow roadster warms my heart a bit, too. I'll leave out comments about other anatomical parts.
If the ones we're making don't work, it would have been a fun experiment and we'll take appropriate corrective action. I do have plenty of padding on my butt, I should add.
I got the oposite problem in the truck. It's stock 48 bench is tooooooooo soft. Could use some steel to prevent sag! :)
Still working on the Cutlass, finally have the firewall done and a few more rusted out areas to replace on the base of the windshield. Should get those done tomorrow and get some primer on the firewall and cowl, then it will be back to blocking on the body and starting on routing the wiring.
Finally got the trunk cleaned up and primed. Still working on the inside of the car and the firewall, just borrowed a camera and took some pics of the car so everybody doesn't think I'm just screwing off all winter!!!!!!!!!!:LOL::LOL:
Dave nobody here would think that! We know your idea of vacation is 10 hour days in Garage!
Coming right along. That steering wheel, cleaned up, would look nice in my Vette.
