That has been one of the more humorous displays of late, especially in debate post mortem. All those fine folks who voted in the relatively unknown guy in 2008 based on his bumper sticker slogan of "Hope and Change" supported entirely by platitudes and ultimately undelivered promises are now drilling Romney for "specifics".Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon
It's much easier to promise someone a "free" ride on the wagon than to urge them to pull it.
Luck occurs when preparation and opportunity converge.

Until MR can tell me where the money to right the ship is coming from all he is, is a talking head, a politician and not a leader with a solution. At least our President is providing those facts, even though they may not be the best, they are quantifiable. Undelivered promises are also backed by facts, MR needs to bring some to the table...and lose that chesire cat grin!
But perhaps most importantly, when MR sees removing $$$ from NPR as a big step in the right direction (Fed govt. only provides 15% of the total funding for NRP), what other social services will follow? Medicare? Medicaid? Welfare? Other non-revenue Arts? Unfortunately I believe that people will physically suffer with MR at the helm and I don't want that to happen. I also appreciate that our President is looking out for the middle class of which my family is firmly planted in, while MR's wealth allows him a whole different viewpoint on life that may not be in my best interest.
All of us need to think about what we are voting for, not against when we go to the polls in November.
I will now go back to the Hot Rod Threads, discuss away! God Bless America!...at least I'm enjoying the ride!

HRS. The "facts" from the pres. are not real. IMHO.. how can we continue to build our country on a house of cards? No one wants to see any of our citizens hurt, but, when those cards come crashing down, we will all suffer! There is just no way we can survive with a 15 TRILLION dollar debt! And that is a fact! If we continue to spend more than we take in, we as a country are doomed as we'll take down the worlds economy with us! That is another fact!
I agree with you that we need to think hard about what we're voting for in a few weeks. The reality as I see it is this, no matter what happens we'll pay, always have, always will... it's just how much harder will the landing be if we choose to be financially wreckless?
I hope you take this in the spirit that it's intended! Just a different viewpoint than yours! Thanks..Last edited by 34_40; 10-06-2012 at 06:23 AM. Reason: spelling
