Hoss---I put a 460/c6 into a 1970 F250 in late 1970---used the 360 front mounts and they set the engine a little up in the front, rear trans mount was good-

except----had a vibration every time I started forward with it unless we had the race car trailer hooked up so of course the common idea was that it liked being a push truck and loved the fire up roads infront of thousands of spectators------

Actually, tho, by shimming up the trans crossmember 1/2 inch at the outer frame rails corrected the alignment of the drive shaft ( 2 piece)---also after dozens of Ford engineers road/drove the truck, they liked the combo nd did factory job which finally came out in 1973--------I then got the 460 factory front mounts and was nice----also the initial install was with the Lincoln tail housing which was longer---later had trans shop change output shaft and tail housing to pick up version and was nice----

Did dual exhaust down right hand side as fuel tanks were on left? IIRC-----------

Truck is still around somewhere in Colorado owned by some retired Ford factory guy---got the reputation/nickname of the Devil Truck-----It also is in the movie Funny Car Summer about 1:06 and just after the front view of the big breasted girl in the Property of Dallas Cowboys shirt--------then me working over the dragster!!!!!!!!!!!

With folks like this if you approach them about selling they usually get a smile, and say never until I die. I think they get a perverse pleasure knowing they have something somebody really wants and they can hold that over them, though they will let it rot to ruin and never touch it or make any money off it. Sometimes you have to catch them at their own game, and show them a wad of hundred dollar bills as they are bitching about being poor(this works really well in front of their wife or kids). If you catch them off guard and flash cash in front of their greedy little eyes, sometimes they will jump on the money. It definately takes some skill and timing, but oh how nice it is when it works!

i have always lamented about the lack of knowledge on my fathers side .i know everything about my mothers family . i didn`t even know my grandfather moons name ..all that has changed recently ..one of my older brothers found a distant family member who has collected just about everything there is to know ..i had known for many years that there were moons in the owens cross roads area and had been told that moontown was named after my moon relatives . yes ..we are from the same tree .. i had wished to find moons integrated in military history and boy did i ever ..and it is just a stroke of luck that i exist today .. great great great grandfather nathaniel moon who was a veteran on the war of 1812 went on to father 11 kids .. 5 boys and 6 girls .. when the civil war rolled around all 5 boys joined up but nathaniel said one of them had to stay home .. mother could not live losing all her boys .. the one who stayed was my great great grandfather ..the tomb stones in the pictures tell a terrible tale ..and the cemetery is of my family ..and there is revolutionary history as well .. more on that later as i study the information i just recently got

Hoss, is the Cemetery located in Tennessee? I really like the way it remains peaceful but "without" a fence around it.

WOW, Hoss, what a find for you and to think you might not have ever known - - - way cool. I did some browsing on the 37th Tennessee Infantry and found this. What a terrible time for so many families back then and you're correct, you are very lucky to even exsist.

Must have a new Art Morrison chassis, custom built LS motor with a T56 six speed, and a box with $2000 in the bed.....
