The most valuable parts appear to be the wheels and the brakes. I think the rooftop a/c unit would work well for my shed too!" "No matter where you go, there you are!" Steve.

ok ...i knew that idiot car show from Cuba would not last more than 2 or 3 episodes .. and it dint take long for me to realize that the fast and loud crowd dint know their butt from a hole in the ground .. they built a 67 fairlane GT with a " 289 " big block in it .. now i have watched this episode of misfit garage where they are doing a 64 red on red ford galixie and the engine has a miss .. they determine that one cylinder has low compression . something is not letting the valve close .. then they determine that a slightly bent push rod is the problem .. i say bull .. a slightly bent push rod on that engine ( non adjustable valve train ) might give you a ticking noise but not a loss of compression .. these stupid made for TV car shows are killing me ...iv`e used up all my sick days at work .. can i call in dead ?

It's all relative, Hoss; compared to an average 4 cylinder rice burner, a Windsor is a big block. I agree about the inanity of most of these shows, though, but I gave them all up when we gave up our cable tv.

after speaking to people on the scene and hearing from the driver it seems the gas pedal stuck to the floor after he went into 2nd gear .. he reached down with his hand to pull the pedal up and lost control .i suppose it is possible to restore something and not take the time to make sure the gas pedal functions properly .. it was probably the first time he floored it ..it is said he does have full coverage insurance but refused to allow the police to be called to the scene .. i dont know how that works ...iv`e used up all my sick days at work .. can i call in dead ?

Thanks for that link! That is a cool story! When I was 17 I was throwing hay and working for a large farmer that was our neighbor. On one of his farms he purchased, it had a very large old wood barn like in the movie Days of Thunder. I had to clean all the old hay out of this barn and clean it out. He told me I could keep what ever was in there besides hay. You know what I found? A 69 Boss 302 nuzzled in the back corner of the barn. The hay was stacked almost against it from the floor to the ceiling. It was Blue and black, complete, and turned out to be really nice. The barn had concrete, and some how the mice/rodents didn't tear it up horribly. And guess what, I didn't get to keep it.It turned out to be owned by the son of the parents that owned the farm before. Their son never came back from Vietnam. Bob, my boss at the time, had us clean the car up inside and out. He got the title, took the car to an auto auction in Chicago, sold it and gave the money to the living mother to pay bills with. I heard a rumor that that car brought $15k and that was in 1998. I was mad not to get the car at the time, but that lady needed the financial help more that I needed a 69 Boss then. That's my best barn find story. Haha

Engine electrical problems can lead to a circuitous trip thru hell!. I agree getting rid of a old point distributor makes everything seem to work better, but sometimes the journey can drive you nuts!" "No matter where you go, there you are!" Steve.

It's electronic so yes, it'll "go bad". You can start with the basics, check all connections, especially grounds.
10 years is a good run for any electric component. Some basic maintenance might be all it needs.

Cotterpin started all that BS and it's grown from there. I guess the corporate bean counters, maybe they know how to put gas in their car if that, think it makes good TV since they view the general public as more stupid than they are. IMHO, the only one that had any worth was Two Guys Garage and it's other names.Ken Thomas

"i figured you`d have that thing running by now " .. " i figured you`d have that thing running by now " .. . boy do i get tired of hearing that ..Every day two of my neighbors come by and say that. Every day i remind them i`m in no hurry to finish it ..
. this is my " new " toy .. 78 F100 that i`m shoehorning my 429 into .. my last try did not end well as it was too new a vehicle and there were too many electronic things i could`nt fix with my torch and welder .. i knew this would be nearly a bolt in as i`ve had this same motor in a 71 truck 25 years ago .. the only issue iv`e ran across is the header fitment .. these headers are for the 97 ford truck i tried last year and are quite a bit different .. i had to cut off the second tube and join it to the first one as it ran directly into the steering box .. it was already a 400M engine so the 429 fit right up to the C6 trans .. i already had 429 frame mounts laying around .. as of now i have no intention of painting it .. if i find a job anytime soon i may .. i may smell smoke next week ..iv`e used up all my sick days at work .. can i call in dead ?

3500 is the asking price... LOL..
it is kinda hard to build a ride when there's no paychecks coming in. Sorry to hear that too!
