every morning when i`m off work i take a good long walk down a street that follows a winding creek most of its length .. i see all manner of critters most days .. deer , possums, sometimes a flock of turkeys .. this morning a little chip monk caught my eye .. he was running back and forth along a tree limb that was hanging a bit over the waters edge about 8 inches high ..as i focused my eyes i could see that there was a small nut sort of like a peanut sitting on the tree limb ..the chip monk finally got enuff courage to go and get the peanut when just about the time he grabbed it a big bass jumped out of the water and swallowed the chip monk ...amasing !!!! i said to myself ... but even more amasing was that after a minute or so that bass came up out of the water and set another peanut on that limb ......

Please join me in remembering a great icon. Veteran Pillsbury spokesperson, The Pillsbury Doughboy, died yesterday of a severe yeast infection and complications from repeated pokes to the belly. He was 71. Doughboy was buried in a slightly greased coffin. Dozens of celebrities turned out, including Mrs. Butterworth, the California Raisins, Hungry Jack, Betty Crocker, the Hostess Twinkies, Captain Crunch and many others.

The graveside was piled high with flours as long-time friend, Aunt Jemima, delivered the eulogy, describing Doughboy as a man who "never knew how much he was kneaded."

Doughboy rose quickly in show business, but his later life was filled with many turnovers. He was not considered a very smart cookie, wasting much of his dough on half-baked schemes. Despite being a little flaky at times, even as a crusty old man, he was still considered a roll model for millions.

Toward the end it was thought he'd raise once again, but he was no tart.

Doughboy is survived by his second wife, Play Dough. They have two children and one in the oven. The funeral was held at 3:50 for about 20 minutes

what does one do with stinky old gas .. i dont mean the kind you get from eating too many bean burritto`s .. it seems the last time my " new " pinto was driven the owner filled the tank .. it`s 8 year old gas and wont run more than a minute ..with any luck the full tank kept my tank from rusting up .. i`ve not got any trash or rust in the fuel filter ..but as i say .. what to do with 15 gallons of old varnish .. i mean gas ...

You used to be able to add almost pure alcohol to it, which would absorbe the water and allow you to burn it off by running it. Nowdays it's hard to find. I bought the cheapest large gas cans I could find, and then took it to the garbage recycler on toxic clean up day. Some people use it to help start their brush piles on burn days(during the winter). I still have a five gallon container of bad gas from the tank that came with my truck! It is a pain finding anyone who will recyclie it these days. Now in my grandma's time, they just poured it into the ground without a thought! More of a problem today!

Funny thing is,,that in this day and age,the unleaded gas we now have,is more toxic to us humans than the leaded fuel was..My late father used to wash engine parts, siphon by mouth,(and would end up with it in his mouth, sometimes),,wash his hands in it,etc,,as I'm sure a lot of others did..He passed 8 days before his 90th birthday(gave up smoking at 88)..And,if I'm correct,,one of the reasons leaded fuel was banned, was for health reasons...Hmmm...Convince me,,,,are all the carcinogenic properties of today's petrol better for your health??Dont think so...
Hey,Hoss.....dump it on ya grass, where you dont want grass to grow...hehe..

Why not add a gallon ( or two) to the daily driver and then top it off with fresh gas? That's how I get rid of old gas. Works good.

When I started working at Exide, making lead acid batteries, I learned a few things about lead, and my blood was drawn monthly to check for lead.

I can't remember the numbers exactly, but when leaded fuel was phased out, the average blood lead for Americans was significantly higher than it is now.
