Ha, I just meant that the frame actually still has the original engine after all these years.

I started working on the bed sides. Using 20ga. steel and grafting in two VW bus engine vent louvers on the drivers side and a solid panel on the passenger side.

Like the video, your project is flying along. Great progress. I think I missed somewhere how the head lights flip around?

Thanks! For now, the headlights rotate manually thru a spring mounted arrangement. Lift up, rotate 180 degrees and drop back into a slot. I rarely drive at night, so not much of an issue. I'll look into a cab control arrangement if I decide to keep these lights.

While building this truck, I wanted to make sure that I could park it inside my security fence and close the gate

Thats got to be at least a 1/4" to spare!

Also got some work done on the drivers side

Started smoothing off the hundreds of tack welds on the headlight filler panels.

Progress. Welded up the cut in the door and removed the alignment clamps

Also made some progress on the drivers side bed side and engine vents. Welded in the mounting strips and grafted in the vents but still have lots of tack welds and grinding to go.

Todays progress. The panel has many small imperfections but it should be easier to hammer them out now that it is held in place.

Very kewl, Ben! Those front turn indicators are unique, to say the least! Wondering if folks will see them or not? Mine on the '33 flash amber on the bottom of the headlights, and it seems that no one acknowledges the signal as I approach an intersection where I'm turning right, and they are waiting to proceed - their loss, as I've clearly signaled, but wondering how the "lighted tips" will do for you. They may be enough different that they attract attention, but if not maybe if you incorporate some longhorn spacing??

Just jerking your chain a bit on the lights. Really like the side scoop compared to the louvers! Very trick, and should be very effective, too.

    Thanks for posting the link.
