I think I was pretty lucky to find it guys, I've been thinking though about converting it to electric as it is around 50 years old and possibly unreliable ???
My idea is to keep the look but hide a small microswitch inside to work a hidden modern roll control.

It stopped raining for a while last evening which gave me a chance to weld in my remote oil filter mount. They show just enough to be noticed.

No electric ones Steve but inside this is a barrel valve, there is room inside for a mini micro switch which the barrel valve could operate, thin wires could be hidden inside one of the brake pipes, simples !!!Quote:

Yeah, I like No 1 best and the difference in font is not a problem at all, to my eye. The "Willys" is traditional block, and having the "Supercharged" in a mild script slant just adds to the highlight. I think it would look worse if it matched the block letters above, but that's just me.
I like location on the top of hood next to the blower scoop.
How about a slight variation of the # 1 choice? Above the trim centered over the Willys...
Differently under the Willys badge is my vote Steve. The little corner pieces you made up for at the bottom corner of the bonnet, hood for our American friends, is that part of the pillar or guard or separate altogether and what did the original Willys have?????
I think my vote is on number one as well!

Mostly very windy & showers here today so a workshop job had to be found, Been looking at the fairlane grille and thinking it needed a surround, I found some 1/4" annealed stainless thick walled tube that would bend easily so made up a surround, Its held in place by 4mm screws from the back which screw into tapped holes in the back of the surround.

Willys are well known to have cooling issues due to the rad being high, I made up an air deflector to make sure all the air went through the radiator.

Whip believe it or not 90% of my stainless comes from the local scrap dealer, They have separate bins for each type of metal, I just go along and have a root through, It costs me scrap value which is peanuts compared to the proper price, the guy there now knows me well so tends to put interesting stuff aside for me.Quote:

Like the lined front edge look. Definately gives it a cleaner finished look and goes well with the chrome fender welt.

The springs were chromed and stainless shackles fitted, the towing eye was originally threaded into the original bumper mount holes, as these had been removed the open end was plated over and a tapered stainless mount spun up in the lathe, this is welded into place and a corresponding hole drilled in the front panel for the towing eye to be screwed into.
