When/If I flake it next year Steve, Ian said he will do it all again :D
There is a lot more to come yet as the Bigbossman is coming down for the weekend soon to do all the rest of the lettering, theres quite a bit more to do on the car.
Also I ordered a load of period water slide decals from the US, They arrived but they are crap quality so Ian is going to remake them all for me in better quality as he is a sign maker by day.

Amazing work from Mr Big Steve but I'm bit worried about this Miss Whiplash, I hope it was just the kettle she boiled.:HMMM:. The weather looks like it played the game also with abit of sunshine so that you all could enjoy the tucker under the umbrella out in the back yard.
When we set off to collect the doors it was raining all the way until we got a couple of miles away and suddenly the sun popped out to say hi !!!
Mandy (miss whiplash) is a big beasted gal that always raises temperatures Whip, she also make a nice cup of tea !!!

Well no Jubilee street party for me as I was cracking on with making a mount for my twin remote oil filters, the filter on the Cadillac was a bit awkward to get too so I decided to go remote.
They will be mounted between the spring hangers just in front of the radiator.
Filters are K&N and a couple of Offenhauser finned filter covers keeps them looking tidy.

What Steve, didn't the Queenies personal invitation arrive in the mail for you to join her on the Royal Barge down the Thames?? Not good enough eh chaps!!!:D. I like the oil filter bracket and heck that will look very cool sitting in front of the engine. Now what happened to the PK screws holding them to the firewall??;)
Oh you know, those old looking slot self tapping screws to hold the oil filters to the firewall as one would of done back in the day before stainless steel was invented. LOL.
Or maybe the bronze ones before steel came around;):HMMM:
Well it stopped raining today http://www.nsra.org.uk/newforum/images/smilies/yes.gif so i managed to get some more bits painted at last.
While i was waiting for it to dry i mostly played fender piping, tried Black looked aweful, tried Grey but no good as i can't find a perfect match for the primer, ended up trying some chrome mylar, Looks ok but i'm still not sure so it might get changed again, opinions ???
While I was thinking about it I finally got around to finish polishing the weight bar and fitted my Willys licence plate light that finally turned up. While I was there i fitted a Wilys script to the trunk to stop people thinking they are following a VW http://www.nsra.org.uk/newforum/imag...s/rolleyes.gif

Also tried these against the car today, they are original 60's McCulloch Paxton supercharged chrome scripts as new condition, they came in the blower kits when you bought one, I found them on Ebay for little money, Rockit put me onto them, thanks Shaun.
Just can't make up my mind where to put them ???

How about one at a 30 degree angle on the rear trunk off to the right of the willys one?
Or on the front hood above the two willys ones, but above the chrome trim
Close, but no cigar...............under the logo on each side of the hood........
As for the fender welting to my eye the chrome works best with the light grey.........that, or paint to match.
Hmmmm......maybe put one on the dash and sell the other one for a premium price....jmho...:)
No worries. You put it out there for opinions so I just threw mine in. ;) I'm usually a "less is more" kinda guy and since you're already going to have a lot of verbage on the car with signage, etc, I just didn't really see the need to add these. But I also totally applaud your choice to build your car however you want and I know that gasser style cars are usually covered with lots of verbage. So, that being said, my second choice would be where Uncle Bob said....:)
I like the chrome fenderwelt also for the guards Steve and as for the badges, I will wait and see where you end up putting them as I think they will add to the whole finish look of the car.
I'll go with Uncle Bob on this one and the difference in the style of scrip just adds a little flavor or in your case flavour.
How about one under the trunk Script below the license plate, and one on the firewall behind the engine, or welded to those custom valvecovers, or on the dash inside?
Loving this build. :)
Where abouts are you able to buy the Willys script by the way?
Picked up a rather unusual line lock off Ebay (thanks to Rockit for spotting it} Its a MIco lever lock, basically a mechanical valve, they were first made in 1957 and used thoughout the 60's i'm told so ideal for my project.
They were made by Minnesota Automotive Inc, I remember seeing some of them fitted to muscle cars in the early 70's but havn't seen one since.

This one has sat around for years and was seized solid so I soaked it in plus gas for a few days and finally managed to get it apart, the main body is aluminium and has a steel sliding valve with an o ring seal, The bore was pretty corroded but cleaned up well after honing it clean. The valve was polished up and a new O ring fitted, bit of brake fluid and it was sliding nicely. The 5/8" UNF thread had been damaged but running a die down it restored it enough for the handle to screw back in place.

The tag plate has unfortunately been butchered at some point but the details are all there and the Bigbossman has come to the rescue yet again and is going to print off a new tag face.

The lever was chrome and it was unusable so I made a new one in stainless round bar.
http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h2...S/59509fbf.jpg
The original supplied bracket was for fitting underneath the dashboard but was no good for my use as I need it mounted between the seats, I was going to make a box for it but I kinda like the open bare look so I made a new mounting bracket in stainless that will bolt to the floor.

That's a new one on me. Never seen one of those before.
Man you are TO MUCH!!!!! At one time I used a "Ball valve" back in the 60s
That's going to be a very cool addition to the Willys.
cool .. dads drag truck never had one of them..but they did have a 727 with push button dash shifter. they would run the hemi up till it.s throat was clear and very mad... then puch the button .... all four tires would clear the ground . they stop doing it or it was band at the track as some guy was missing part of his foot when the trans came up threw the floor to see him
Heck, that is awesome and no way would you want to hide the mechanism in a box. I like the drilled bracket and it certainly gives it that real race car imagine, a real bonus for the interior feel of the car.
Thanks for the reply. I think this is the place? http://www.willysreplacementparts.com/prices.html
