If there is a problem beyond the carb a new one won't fix it, but I agree it is an easy fix but hoping things work themselves out and get better is only that, hope.

I'd try new plugs before a new carb, you'd be surprised what a difference the right plugs can make, and it's only a $20 risk.

If you buy a new carb from Summit, they will take it back if it doesn't work for you, no hassles. Excellent company, nothing to lose by trying a new carb. The Edelbrocks would match your intake, and work great right out of the box. Dumping more money and time into the old setup doesn't sound smart to me, IMHO based on what you have already spent and done.
