Nicely done falcon, looks very secure in that frame work. Did you use any insulation around the straps? I am going to have mine apart here shortly and I am looking for ideas on what to use."Sunshine, a street rod and a winding beautiful Ozarks road is truely Bliss!"

No, I didn't but I probably need to so it doesn't rub a hole in it. Maybe some of that 2" wide foam tape thats adhesive on one side or something like that. What are you using?

To add some cushion between the intercooler and the mounting bracket, I went to Big "R" (Sort of a farm & fleet type store) and bought a truck mud flap. About 3/16" thick & nylon reinforced core should make it very durable. I should be able to get all the pcs. I need out of it and it was only about 5 bux."PLAN" your life like you will live to 120.

Whoever came up with Presidents day is pretty cool, cause it gave me another day in the garage this week. I got one bedside put together and trial fitted. These were off of a 65 Chevy longbed so i had to cut 30" out of the middle of them and weld them back together, plus patch a bunch of holes where the wheelwells bolted on. A full days work to get one to this point and the other one cut.

Beds Looking good falcon, looks like it's falling in place nicely. I have been working on my buddys 440 duster. It's been fun and the car should really haul the mail!"Sunshine, a street rod and a winding beautiful Ozarks road is truely Bliss!"

Sounds far out! I've got a real soft spot for Dusters; how about a few pics? Now that I look at the bed, I probably should have channelled the cab. But to get it much lower I would have needed a "Z'ed" frame, and then I'm defeating the purpose of doing this in the cheap with what parts I had. I'm still pretty happy for where I am and I still havent broke the $2K mark. OK, coffee's done so I'm garage bound. Let's see them Duster shots!

Let me know Dave, I have access to a field of every shape and color A-body mopar. I would sure trade one for some early iron, I am still wanting a project. I have a 70 Dart myself right now ready for restoration and looking at a couple others, a 67 valiant 100 post or a 74 duster sport not sure there yet. I already have a BB for the Dart too. Here are some pics of Small blks BBduster and the monster 500" 440 he is putting in it. It's a shoehorn job but it fits."Sunshine, a street rod and a winding beautiful Ozarks road is truely Bliss!"

I'll bet it was a challenge getting the headers bolted on. I had a lot of problems with the 318 in the '75 I had.Ken Thomas

Yes it was an all night challenge as a matter of fact. Only one way you can do it and that is put them in as you are sliding the engine in. No way to get them in with the engine bolted in."Sunshine, a street rod and a winding beautiful Ozarks road is truely Bliss!"

I didn't have much trouble with the passenger side, but the driver's side was another story. We had to jack the engine to clear the steering box and disconnect the tie rod as it had to pass through the header tubes.Ken Thomas

Yep, we went through that on small blocks black 72 duster 318. I sure wonder why it is so tight for headers in those cars."Sunshine, a street rod and a winding beautiful Ozarks road is truely Bliss!"

Welcome to CHR. I think that you need to hook up your vacuum advance. At part throttle when cruising you have less air and fuel in each cylinder, and the air-fuel mixture is not as densely packed...
