Fixed!
I decided to hook it up as a three wire.
Bought a $24 replacement unit.
I talked to Painless Wiring today.
I ran a battery loop to terminal 2. I ran a ignition on with a radio shack capacitor in terminal 1.
Batta Bing...batta boom, it charges again!!!!!!!!!!
