It had an external voltage regulator in there before, and the harness was junk. I yanked the harness and built my own from a five fuse panel deal.

So........., I don't have the "exciter" etc, wire anymore.

I am sure I can figure out how to add this back.

So the "field" is just looped back to the battery terminal? Then the other one is the "exciter" wire. Does that mean it comes on only when the key is on?
