Ain't it amazing that the kids can convince you that need that pool. "Dad, we'll clean it" Yeah - sure, twice, maybe!!!

We had an above ground pool for 16 years (until it sprung a leak). We used it frequently when my daughter was between 5 and 15, but as she got older she had better things to do. Our pool season was early June until the end of August at best. My wife loved it, I didn't. I was the chief in charge of cleaning, repairing, purchasing all chemicals, and accessories, etc, etc. Got old pretty fast. Now that it is gone, I truly do not miss it. Hope to never have another one.
We have a hot tub on the rear deck. Had it for 20 years. Used to use it through out the year. Kind of nice to be in it with snow falling on your head. But I got older, get colder easier, and can't stand to freeze my butt off getting to and from the warm house. So we run it from April to Thanksgiving. Still nice but what an energy hog. Even at 220 volts, it will make your electric meter spin like mad especially when the heater has to run constantly to keep the water in the pipes from freezing. Wife still loves it and it's still kind of neat to sit in it and watch the meteor showers in August. But when we move, the spa will not relocate with me and I won't be getting another one.Last edited by mopar34; 03-11-2008 at 03:13 PM.

A good friend will come and bail you out of jail....but a true friend will be sitting next to you saying..."Damn....that was fun!
