Yes and yes. My grandson is an jet engine mechanic stationed at Cherry Point North Carolina. He's home on leave at present and were trying to get the 66 Mustang road worthy so he can drive it to N. C.

That is awesome and please tell him thank you from us for his service!

I think one of the best things I did for my brother was get his 92 Ford put back together so he could take it back to Cali when he was home on leave once. I think that thing kept him going.

for the past few weeks on the days that there has been somewhat bareable weather i have been picking up trash off the side of a street near me ..i dont know why but iv`e begin to notice how crappy most of the roads look with so much litter ..it gives me something to do for a couple of hours in my neverending boredom .. anywho once in a great while someone will blow at me .. i have no clue who they are ,, one time a fellow even stopped and thanked me for doing what i was doing .. he said he lived nearby and appreciated seeing a clean hiway .. i thought to meself .. have i ever seen you picking up any of this ? ... HA !! i thanked him and said it gave me something to do .. in a stretch of about 1/4 mile i have picked up 7 40 gallon garbage bags full of mostly plastic water and coke bottles .. the first bag i brought home and put in with my garbage as i never have a full can .. the next 2 bags i left on the side of the street to get them later and much to my surprise they were gone in a few days .. i just imagine the county picked them up .. i am friends with the county commissioner and the next time i see him i will thank him for having the bags picked up ..he will most likely thank me for picking up the trash and i will mention that i`d like to have a job doing that very thing ... everything has motives ...
iv`e used up all my sick days at work .. can i call in dead ?

Not that it compares to your efforts Hoss but when my wife and I go for our morning walks I will pick up the little stuff that will fit into pockets and bring it home. Our cans are rarely full too at pickup time.

i dont know what the NHRA is thinking .. i know pro stock has been in a down fall for several years .. i have paid very little attention to it since larry morgan quit trying to be competitive with a ford .. i think most fans feel the same way .. they rarely ever had a 16 car field last year and have already started this season short handed and in a most idiotic move this year they will allow teams to run any style body they wish with any approved engine no matter the maker .. do you think i will pull for a mustang with a chevy motor ? .. i had a tiny bit of interest in pro mod for a bit but i`m not sure they still run them .. pro stock was usually 14 or 15 cars .. pro mod was 20 or more and billy glidden and a few others used ford products .. i guess before the year is over toyota will be fielding a few pro stocks as well .. probably what all this body swapping is all about .. toyota money ...

Pro stock camaro is a FARCE. nhra killed pro stock when they went to nascar bodies and clutchless transmissions. nhra is in a death spiral and they are too stupid to realize it and that is what happens when you let bean counters take over the show. Garlits told them how to fix it after they went to 1000' racing and they wouldn't listen.

the stang is retired for winter but the pinto will still make a cruise lap now and then .. just went on a small round trip and on the way some kids standing out in a yard came running out to the road jumping up and down waving a sign .. i slowed way down to see the sign and it said " PECANS" .. but i knew i only had three bucks in my pocket so i did not stop . Later in the lap i got to feeling a bit bad about not stopping so i decided on my way back home i would stop and if i could not buy any pecans i would just give them the three bucks i had anyway ...so i stop and as i roll down my window a pit bull puppy comes running up to my car .. i hear a woman holler " Willie "" STOP " ... i says OK !! ... turns out it was the name of her pit bull dog .. i tell her it was also my name .. HA !! anyway turns out the pecans are 3 bucks a pound .. everyone is happy as i drive away .. now i`m broke but my birds will eat good next week ..

after 14 years of good service the starter of my pinto went out over the weekend .. got it towed home and got a new smaller hi torque version from orielly`s .. put it on and it worked fine except it would keep cranking for about 5 seconds after the engine was running ..i thought it was fitting too tight and i shimmed it many times with no improvement ..since i had built the car i have been running the original ford solenoid mounted on the firewall in conjunction with the chevy solenoid which mounts directly on the starter .. some wiring magic back then made it work just fine .. but this time around it would not work .. i had to do away with the hookup on the ford switch and hook directly onto the chevy starter .. one of those things that make you go " HHHMMMNN "

Personally, I was never in favor of wiring a Ford solenoid to power a Chevy starter. The solenoid on any GM starter is the weakest link. Rarely, if ever, does the field wiring on a GM starter short or open, but the brushes eventually wear out. Replacing brushes and installing a new solenoid is considerably cheaper than a new or rebuilt starter. And occasionally the bendix needs to be replaced. I'd venture to say that new bushes and a new solenoid would have brought your old starter back to life. The starter on my Vette is a combination of the original starter, a 400 starter, new brushes and a new solenoid.
