No matter which way you slice it, it's a lot of grams.
Large power transformers are heavy things, and most of the ones I worked around had their weights listed on a plate on the side of the unit, and it listed them in pounds - each separate component group individually, plus the total. They are all impressive in their prodigious weights, but one in particular really impressed me; without radiators, tap changing sections, bushings, or oil, the core and tank assembly weighed in at 900,800 pounds, give or take a bit for memory loss; the total weight completely assembled and ready to go in service was close to 1,750,000 pounds, or 875 tons. And, that was for a three phase 220,000 V to 66,000 V transformer, about the size of a small suburban house; there are bigger ones, much bigger ones.Rrumbler, Aka: Hey you, "Old School", Hairy, and other unsavory monickers.
Twistin' and bangin' on stuff for about sixty or so years; beat up and busted, but not entirely dead - yet.
