Only in California??? How did you see that one? Cars like that have made things harder on all of us! When I was going through registration, cars like this were specifically mentioned by the state trooper who inspected mine.. They have stepped up efforts to prohibit things like this from ever seeing the road here in Mass.
Now maybe it's mechanically sound and safe, I don't know - never seen it.. but it sure looks bad, things like those door latches just scare me! Oh, and check out the gas tank next to the radiator with the fan wiring flapping against the mount!
The closest it would get to the road down here,,is the distance between the trailer deck it's sitting on and the road..:eek:
Around here you may get plates and insurance on it BUT I'd bet you loose it all when you take it out.
I don't know when to give up, am trying to get body work done on '76 GMC 2WD 1/2 tonne pick-up, but rust gets ahead of me...daily driver, should be in a shop/garage and 2nd car/vehicle to drive while work done...no $$$ Winter Hard and Cold...Cab Corners are Gone, and Roof is Rusted and Dimpled, steel probably tempered from high speed grinder use...Opps..me bad, want to use bondo, but think new Panels, door skins, and so forth should be replaced with New (Made in Taiwan) parts...
Does any of this make any sense? I am wondering now if I should invest in another vehicle, Shut Down the project and cut the losses while I can/should... :-(

Sure it makes sense! but only you can decide when it stops making sense!! If you don't have any emotional attachments, then scrap it and buy some late model that won't need anything for a long time... Then you can find something older to pour money into! LOL..
I like your Spirit Hoss..... a Pinto you say...did you have a 302 or 351? in it?
after the worst winter in my 58 years existence i am slowly getting back to a somewhat normal life .. i dont know if my posting will increase .. i have noticed that my enthusiasm for hot rodding has greatly diminished .. i dont even read the car craft and hotrod mags i get ..the fact that i cant see them without a magnifying glass does`nt help .. i finally got the mustang back together 2 weeks ago .. did a doughnut in front of the state trooper down the road .. he got a little upset about it ..i dint know he was home ...iv`e had my stang and pinto for 10 years now .. longer than anything iv`e ever owned .. here is the stang getting washed ..
Sounds like fun,Hoss.. Try doing that in front of one our cops,,and ya get to wave ta ta to the car,for 28 days,,and a court appearance,,and storage fees,,and a fine... hehe.. I still have a huge black stripe or two in the shed from my old Dodge Monaco, with the stroked B/B,from 10 years ago.. Fun though,,isn't it??
I think we all go through a period where we lose interest and find other things to do.. then we pick it up again until the next ebb & flow like the tides.
Talk to the 34guy, a new car always fixes him! LOL
By the way, NICE Mustang!
"Quote from Hoss429 "iv`e used up all my sick days at work .. can i call in dead ?"
Yes, but if you do it more than a couple times they get suspicious.
Life seems to cause us all to ebb and tide along with projects, ect. I found my energy has finally come back along with my excitement to get this project done and street worthy, not to meantion I need to get garage space back from all the loose parts, hood, fenders etc. lying around!
We seem to be having a lot of that free car washes here lately. Nice stang by the way!
Here's a "random" thought - - - "Guess what I'll be doing tomorrow?"

Love those Cragar mags, had a set on my 68 Stang!
Classic Cragar SS wheels, can't go wrong.
Got 'em on my 69 nomad
I'm starting to feel real good about this purchase LOL
However, I pulled a real "DUH" and put the center caps on not thinking that the tire shop needs that hole for their machine. Oh well, easy fix.
any of you folks in the jersey area got a few bucks to spare
Amazing cars being auctioned at Blood Muscle auction
On page one of this post someone said that they were working harder and getting more tired. I have competed in high endurance sports and the rule was to eat (carb load) within a 15 minute to 2 hour window after the work out to regain your energy. After a 2 hrs it will take a week to recover all the energy used.
barrett jackson on fox now and on most of the weekend ..
have`nt had much to say of late .. been searching for a new project .. finally found something. gunna put my old 429 with C6 trans in this 96 F150 ..found a mid 40`s stude truck but it was a bit more than i wanted to fix .. also looked at a early 80`s ford truck with a 9 inch rear but it was a bit too ruff ..found this one today ..will post progress pictures as they occur .. not sure if i will paint it .. if i do i will make it a lightning lookalike sort of ..
Did the 429/ c-6 come out of the Stang? Or was it spare engine you had lying around? Truck looks to be in nice shape!
yes .. the stang has had a 351 5 speed for quite some time ...truck is very nice .. i could easily fix it and flip it but i`d rather play with it ...i most likely will change the color ( white ).. but probably will not fix the few dings and nicks it has just to leave some character on it .. it has painted bumpers and wheels which i like .. i dont care for chrome ..
That blue looks pretty nice! Is the paint failing on the hood or roof?
