I finally got around to re-covering the seat frame for the truck. Got tired of riding around on a piece of cardboard! I went ahead and installed seat heaters while I was at it.

Very nice work Ben. You'll have to share more info on that process(Of the seat work) if you have the time!

Thanks! The last seat I recovered was 35 years ago, so I didn't remember much from the first time! I used a factory style seat cover specifically for the VW along with a replacement foam pad, jute and hog rings. I looked on youtube for a vw seat video and found something right away.

Also, the seat heaters did not come with any instructions, so I found a video for that as well. It is not specific to the brand that I used but did describe the process and placement of the pad.

The only other information of note might be that I modified the seat back framework. The top of the seat was quite thick and had me sitting more upright than I care for, so I permanently restrained the top edge of the seat back, first with zip ties (later removed) to get everything positioned correctly and then with bicycle brake cable crimped with butt connectors. As it turned out, the factory replacement seat cover would have never fit over the thick seat back frame without the modification??

Wow that was cool. I think I will take a shot at redoing my stock 48 ford f1 bench seat, with a stock vinyl seat cover!

I weighed the truck at the recycle center. It came in at 2840. A bit heavier than I had hoped, but not too bad. With the remaining body panels and a/c parts, it should end up around 3000 lbs.

The truck looks great! Very nice work. I personally think the head lights are an awesome idea and look cool too. The roll cage turned out nice too.

    Thanks!
The "off idle" stumble, that many of you noticed in the Test Drive video, turned out to be a defective accelerator pump/check valve. The electric choke was having issues as well, so the carb is being exchanged under warranty. It won't come in for a few more days, but in the meantime, here is a 1500 to 5000 rpm acceleration video.

    Ran across this today!

I believe that it is a Ford Modell AA truck. It is very rough. Trying to buy this and two others on the same property. A Model A that was a police car at some point and some sort of combination of old Ford parts. Everything is under old plywood and tarps.

Heck you could replace the engine with a VW engine and move the axle back under the cab so it looked like a cab over similar to how VW built their pickups. The Madonna headlights would look cool hanging from a bar stuck out front also. You may be able to use the small 4 cylinder engine form the other project to drive the air con unit too. Heck, so much going for it and with your vision, who knows what you could produce.
I maybe a little crazy but it stops me going insane.

I was able to make a package deal for the Model AA truck as well as a Model A and what is left of a Model A truck

The Model A underwent a bit of a restoration back in the early 80's but was then parked under the "lean to" in 89 for 10 years or so and then out in the yard under any number of tarps after that.

The resto included this green velour headliner and seats.

The roof is the worst part of the car

The car was originally a police car. I was told that it had several bullet holes in the back that they filled in with body filler. I will have see if I can push that back out from inside the car. You can see the handle to the passenger side spot light here

There is not much left of the Model A truck. Someone cut off the frame just behind the transverse rear spring and installed Beetle seats. The passenger door is missing and the cab roof has fallen off. All three have complete drivetrains.

Nice find! The model A stuff is getting harder and harder to find. Especially up here.
