Moving to the back, I wanted to finish the trunk area. I need to keep the upper
part of the side panels removable for wiring access, and to able to use the
lifting points to remove the body with.
I have stitch welded in the lower half of the side panel in this pic. I also installed
attachment metal around the rest of the trunk opening using 16 gauge for everything.
I installed 1/4" 20 riv nuts to be used with the removable panel.

More poster board for patterns.

Cutting the panel with another favorite saw. I piked this up from Enco years ago, has
4 speeds with two of them slow for metal. I use a 1/4" blade that cuts sheet metal
really nice.

Great work! Rivnuts are a sweet little device!
One side done!

Pass side with a little seam seal, and etch prime. All the welded pieces were primed
, and painted before installation. I'm getting close to pulling the body to paint, and plumb the frame. I need to redo the front fender mounts that the light bar bolts
to, also not happy with reveal line at one door that needs some work. All those
little things! LOL

16 for everything. Stout.
That is just so nice. I wish I had some other words to say how nice your work is.. beautiful seems to be lacking after using it in this thread so often!
That is some great work for sure!
You have some amazing skills! Beautiful work!
Thanks so much for the kind words guy's, I appreciate the warm welcome I have received
since joining the site! The knowledge base of the regular posters on the site is
amazing, thank's again.
Rich
You deserve the kind words as does your work! :)
Beautiful work on the trunk panels!
Thank you Robert, I have been learning from your posts for a long time!

I'm using the middle seat from a Plymouth van like many people. The only problem
with these seats is they are not tapered front to back like originals. They are to
wide at the back, and make it difficult to make upholstery panels. I decided I
could live without the fold down option on the seat. I made a few simple
brackets out of 1/4" plate to replace the stock pieces. This saved me about
three inches over all. I plan on having the seat redone, but for now I dyed it
black.

The reveal line on the cowl was slightly out of whack, and bugging me! Soooo,
I cut it up, and fixed it.

New headlights! I used 28-9 Model A which have a tapered shape that I like better
than the 30-1's.

I had to roll it out, and take a good look after it being up on jacks so long!

I have been working on the windshield frame, and have it fitting good. I may use
one of the aluminum USA made replacement frames. I saw one at a local car show
today, and it looked pretty good. It has reached the point where it's time to tear
it all down for finish body work, and plumb the chassis. It's hard to do seeing it
all together!

I have been picking away at the Coupe trying to finish up everything so I can
take it apart. I broke down , and bought a aluminum windshield frame from Macs.
Very happy with overall quality. I did have to make a spacer to allow the frame to
tilt out properly. The supplied hinge is larger than a stocker requiring a spacer to
operate properly. I sanded, and polished the frame as best as possible.

I made patterns for all the glass, and ordered it from a guy in Montana that all the Guy's on the HAMB use. No problems, great guy, fast shipping, good price.
Here's a pic of 3 pieces of glass installed to check for fit.

I wanted to install an e-brake, and liked the look of the 40 Ford. I opted for
the pull type since I have very little room on the floor. This pic shows the the
assembly after cutting up most of the bracket, and adapting new ones.

This view shows it installed which ties in to the dash, and steering column bracing.

Rich
Here's the finished look. I used Lokar cables which are all routed, and tied into
the rear wheels. They make quality cables, but are pretty spendy.

I was wanting to get some measurements for some air cleaners I want to fab
so I borrowed a couple of carbs from my friends. I also made up a couple stainless
5/16" support rods for the radiator. I also found a preformed top rad hose that
I was able to shorten to fit at the local parts store. They let me look thru all thier
hoses till I found a likely candidate.

For the lower hose I had made a stainless flange to fit the pump housing, and welded
a preformed 90 cut to fit. I rolled a bubble on the hose end which I will show later.
The hose is a universal 90 from Speedway trimmed to fit.

Good progress as usual Rich.
Glad you had a good experience with Chris on the glass. Somehow he had a heck of a time doing glass correctly for my '32 sedan............probably lost his butt on my project.
Good choice on the park brake handle, I had the same setup on the '30 roadster, not too bad clearance to the left leg. Liked it enough I'm doing it again in the '32 sedan.
Keep up the good work.
Thanks Bob, I had great luck with Chris. It was the USPO that lost my patterns for a week some where in Illinois that I had trouble with! LOL
Rich
Here's that piece I made for the lower rad hose.

The dies I made to roll the bubble with.

Being just an amateur machinist I found it much easier to start off with these
cheap pieces to use as blanks.

They are available at Tractor Supply (when they have them), but I order them on line
from this place.

A pic of the simple tooling I use.

Lathe mandrels make it easier to hold pieces.

If I can't figure something out, my son in law the machinist helps me out !
Rich
I had hung the dash, but never finished mounts for it which I now took
care of. I also reshaped the top ends of the dash by reshaping them straight, and shortening each end 1/2" to allow for door upholstery.

Rich
I wanted to add strength, and have a panel to attach upholstery. I bent up a
angle to mount to the door pillar which I plug welded to the back side. At the
rear I had to make a piece that was flat at the bottom, but rolled the
corner at the top. This gave me the most room for seat , and belt attachments.

This is the finished piece which I was going to cut the centers out of the bead
rolled design for access. For the time being I screwed it on instead of welding it.
Later when time for interior I'll finish it.

Very nice work Rich! Did you put the dodge script into your valve covers? I am going to cut mine and put some older centers from a Ford FE in mine. Anyhow, it is looking great! Those bead roler dies are slick too! I modified some vice grips to do some of mine. Yours is way nicer.
Ryan:
I wondered if anyone would catch that "DODGE" valve cover! LOL It took another Hemi owner! I pressed that
in, and chased it with a hand die for better definition. I had planned on a 'how to' as soon as I get the pics together.
Rich
Just a little update. I finished the inner support panels that will hold the
upholstery later. I covered the space behind the seat, but could not
finish the area beneath the rear window. I have to fab a housing for the
roll down rear window first. Covered the open part of the door shell, and
made covers for the 'B' pillar.

Next project is the exhaust, than I can pull body.
Rich
Rich, your interior looks better than when Henry made it new. I really like the panel work
Ditto what Henry Rifle said! Nice work Rich
Thanks a lot guy's! It will have to do as my interior for quite awhile! LOL
Rich
Rich, nice job on all the bead details of the interior panels. Will be a shame to cover them up with upholstery!
Thank you Robert! I'm going to start a new trend, 'painted interiors'. LOL
Rich
Inspiring work! Hat's of to you.
Interior panels look great. I'll be looking into making some more dies for my bead roller, thanks for the info.
