    That pump will not give me 40 psi at idle. This is were I need the extra oil pressure and flow so I don't wipe out my flat tappet solid lifter cam while its trying to push the double valve springs.

    B.S what makes you think this ? the 155 hv will give you 40 at idle but that would do like any size pump as how loose the rods main s and side clearance is. used the EDM lifters will add oil were needed with very small amount of oil PSI drop if any. there things that can be done to the block and rods to add oil as well you should not need a bbc oil pump most all my sbc builds can do 40+ at idle and with soilds you can rework the upper oiling for more lower oil psi and oil.to much voulme all thats going to do is push all oil to the top end .you need to adress drain back this no magic number on psi will not = voulme or if lifters are going to wipe at 30 psi or 40 psi it is oil getting on the foot of lifter and good oil at that
