Check out this engine . Its just about done . I think that I will try it out in my 1989 short bed Chevy truck . Only thing its 700R trans is on its last leg . I think that I will change the 700R out with a long tail TH350 . I was told its a bolt in . And the trucks just an around town car part hauler . This truck also will get long tube headers and true dual exhaust with turbo mufflers . And at a later date a 342 rear gear . How well do you guys think this set up will work ? To have the 700R trans rebuild its big money . And for how I use the truck . I dont think the 700R will be missed .

I'm running 305 Vortec heads on my 350 vortec engine. Gives a little more compression, but not sure how much more. Supposedly they don't breath as wel on top end as 350's, but that is not what I wanted.

I did some port work on the #601 305HO heads that I am going to use . But I think the max RPMs of this engine will be 5500 to 5800 . I have a #2101 Edelbrock Performer intake and a 1970 350 Chevy Q-JET that I most likely will use . When its done I may take it to the track and see how it will ET .
