    You will not like the results of having a 3" deep tank when it's 3/4 full and you're going up a grade.

    I don't know how deep your bed is, but let's say it's 20". You could build a tank side to side the width of the bed and as tall as the bed up against the cab and still have most of the bed to haul stuff. Let's say it stuck back from the cab 6". A tank 45.5" X 20" X 6" would hold 23 1/2 gallons. The bed floor would be 45.5 X 55. That should be enough room to haul 4 small block Chevies.
