Thanks for the comments, I just thought I'd post some picks of todays start. Here's another link:

Made a big mess but most was from before the start.

Sean sounded good. What was with the fluid leaking? Was that tranny fluid?
Cute driver in the last photo!

I was getting pretty burnt out lately so I took a little break. Yesterday I decided to try my hand at some upholstery work for my seats. I went and bought a big chunk of leather, got some kneeling pads from Princess auto (HF in Canada) and some floor underlay from Home Depot.

Got it shaped up with the kneeling pads, covered it with the underlay, and then started to put the leather on. Have to go buy more to finish but I started on the stitching last night. I've never done anything like this so it took me a while and the stitching is very time consuming. I used the strong thread they gave me to do the seam between the upper and lower and then started on the lacing that is going to go all the way around. Here it is so far.

Thanks guys, it feels so close now, lots of little things to clean up and get it off to inspection. The place I had been talking to has moved to a new city about an hour and a half away so now I have to find someone else or go for a long drive.

    65ny-yea I feel like I high fived a porcupine!

today was busy. I got some more stitching done, hooked up my e-brake cables, mounted the driveshaft ($250 including u-joints), and got my roof all in. Also got the steering wheel mounted, horn hooked up, and cleaned up under the dash a little bit.

I have to work for a few days but then have three weeks off so I want to try and get it finished up for inspection.

I have a feeling I'm going to be right there with you Sean. With the transmission cross member cut out the 460 has a few more inches to go back before it's up against the firewall in my truck! 92 degrees in the shade yesterday!

Well today was a good day for me. It took a couple of tries but I finally got through the inspection process. I kind of lost track on my thread here but the first time in he said he can no longer pass without fenders so I made some cheapies that will just unbolt. I've been going for a few cruises here and there with the transit plate on, I considered them test drives for servicing in case I got pulled over,

My exhaust was a little too loud being that the turnouts are about 3' from my ears so I ordered some big Supertrapp disc only mufflers. I mounted them on the ends of the turnouts and pulled out the baffles I had and it seems to have tamed it a bit. Sure does jump off the line now.

I think a few more cruises and my first car show this weekend then I'll fine tune the motor a bit better. Here's some shots without and with my ugly fenders to be removed soon. Also had to bolt on a bumper thats kinda growing on me.

Thanks for all the help here guys!!!

Well you have to do what ever to get it passed . Once you remove fenders will you still get by or will local law enforcement hassle you some .
