Well !

The Dyno session was very interesting indeed
Despite the advice from my V8 Guru's I chickened out and ran the timing retarded. I have been runing with the ign timing at 19 degree's all in. My Guru's have said I should be running 32 degree's with the boost and nitrous. And not to retard lower than 28 degree's. But I set it at 25 degree's and did a power pull. What a wimp eh

I could tell that it was still too retarded as I still had blue flames coming out of the 12 foot exhaust extensions which were ducted into the extractor hoods. And the hoods got blown away despite being weighed down with car batteries. And you can hear that the engine is lazy with the retarded timing. But I'm very happy with the results from today. The only thing I'm not happy with is the damage to one of my tyres. As the car hit 148mph on the rollers the tyres ballooned (as slicks do) and one of them clipped the inner wheel well as you will see in the video. So Martin Aborted the run a few seconds short as he saw the smoke. I now know that there is still mo0re to come form this engine when I grow some balls and run the timing where it should be. You cant blame me for being cautious can you? After last years blown engine, then the new engine breaking pistons etc and the expense of the rebuild to get where I am today I couldnt bear to think that I might have been pushing the engine to the ragged edge once again. And i get to still have an engine for next season now

I can now brag that my modified Rover 3.9 litre engine is in the 500's at last WOO HOO!!!!

Dyno plot and vid attached. I think I need a lie down now folks !
I'm the old geezer in the black sweat shirt with Wizards of Nos on the back

Regards to all
