hi all!
this is my first post. i have bought a 48 ford tudor as my first rod.
It is a project and will need to be completely rebuilt-exactly what i wanted.
also came with a complete jag 'donor car' for suspension so should ride very nice when its done!
Wont bring it home til i finish the extension on my shed so ill have the room to work on it.
ill get some pics of it up soon in its curent state witch is really good actually -NOS bonnet, both doors, rear left quarter and even the rest is in bloody good nick.
anyway just thought id get a say in and introduce myself.Last edited by spikeo; 09-19-2010 at 05:11 AM.

Well not exactly the welcoming place but I'll say it anyhow - WELCOME to another from half way around the world.
We hope to see pictures soon. Sounds like a decent car to start on and then the Jag underside will make for some interesting "stuff" for us. Hope that it's Ford power

My 36
I am finally just about done with my body work so I had to post a pic of my progress. Still have a lot of blocking to do of course but it is nice to get an idea of what it will look like. I am putting in tear drop tail lights like 35fordguy did and have yet to figure out how to attach my hood sides. I have them hanging from the bar you see in the pic but I don't know how to fasten the bottoms. Any ideas?Mark Smith

A while back I had posted that my 29 ford model A was cutting out while
driving on rough roads.Well finally found that may 3 duce set up
was in fact causing my issue. Just to eliminate fuel issue. I put on
a 4bbl she is now running like a champ again. Thank you to all who
threw their hat in to the ring to help me nail the issue. See pic's profile.

Yes, I bought them from Hagen. I forget what size I ended up with. I printed off the templates for the three sizes and cut it out of red construction paper then positioned them then took it in for the hard part of the job. I am pretty sure I ordered the 12" ones. Yours look to be the same size. Keep up the good work! I was mostly afriad of screwing up the lense trying to get the right peak.

there is a shot directly from the back here, but the large view won't come up so I cant link it.'35 Ford coupe- LT1/T56, '32 Ford pickup, 70 GTO convertible, 06 GTO

I didn't know you could print templates. I eneded up with 9". I put mine a lot lower trying to find the least curvature in the fender. It looks like the coupe fenders swoop down different in the back. Getting the peak is tricky and getting them the same is even harder. I hope I did both. The first fender I tried to use the mounting plate as a template and cut out the shape so I could just install the lens but that didn't work out so I ended up welding in the plate. I got a little smarter on the other side and made a template the size of the lens and cut it out. It took a little more time to cut out but if it looks the same on the car I won't have all of the welding to do. Did you guys glue your lenses in place? If so what did you use?
Thanks again.Mark Smith

I had them email me a file with the templates. yea it definately looks like my fenders swoop down more than your sedan fenders and on the sedan fenders the peak goes all the way through where as on the coupe fenders the peak flattens out. The coupe fenders might be a little easier to pull this off on because you can get away with being a bit off on the bottom and there's no peak to make it obvious.
I can't remember how the lenses are mounted as it has been close to two years now since they were put in. I thought they were mounted to the housings, but looking at your parts pics I am not sure how that is possible. I don't remember glue though. I'll try and take a look this weekend and let you know.'35 Ford coupe- LT1/T56, '32 Ford pickup, 70 GTO convertible, 06 GTO
